These 3 tools are very helpful for grooming long haired cats. Handles are comfortable and tools,well constructed. Severely matted hair still needs a clipper but regular use of these tools should help prevent the worst mats.

My shih tzu has a very thick coat and this works well to remove the excess hair.My dog is a chewer and easily chewed rubber handle.

Use it to prevent matting on my long hair Aussie - works well especially right behind and below ears. Sturdy - would buy again if needed Price is great too.

This is a great set of grooming tools. I use them on cats. The de-shedding rake & the comb get out amazing amounts of loose fur from my cats, much more so than combs & brushes that I have tried in the past. The curved, scythe-like tool, which is supposed to cut through matted clumps, did help a little, but overall I like the other two tools more. The long-haired cat still experiences hair-pulling, but this is beginning to improve since I have been able to remove so much loose fur. The rake & comb glide through the short-haired cat's coat, & also remove amazing amounts of loose fur. Best of all, the whole set costs less than buying just one de-shedder at a brick-and-mortar store.

Didn't work well

My cat had some matted fur in his front leg “armpit” areas. The combs were easy to use - I didn’t even need to look up instructions. Even with a less than enthusiastic cat it was pretty easy to tease the Matt’s out from under the fur and then use the razor sided teeth to cut through them.

I am a pet groomer and am always looking for good undercoat brushes. The comb like brush with alternating length teeth is perfect for this! I've used undercoat rakes mostly but was looking for a less aggressive alternative. This one is perfect! You don't need to worry about over brushing because it only pulls out loose hair. Another huge plus is that all of the loose hair stays in the teeth! My doggo loves it, too!A bit of warning on the other brush, it is a dematting brush so it is very sharp! I actually cut my finger on it while taking it out of its packaging. So don't use it like an undercoat rake. Use it for braking up mats and do so carefully!
