All high quality polished stainless steel even the rivet on top. The adjustable top means you can use it for nearly any seasoning or spice. The handle has nice rolled over edges too. I made sure I hand washed extra well & then ran in the dishwasher due to some polishing compound left on the bottom from the manufacturing process but would buy this again if I needed another one. 👍🏼

Very easy to use. Can make a generous amount of rub at one time. Like the 3 sizes of holes. Very handy.

Got this as a gift. I don't think I would have bought for myself. After having this one, I would!I make my own rubs for poultry, beef, pork, & fish. Each with different ingredients. I just used my hand in the past to season stuff. I store my individual rubs in separate containers. Since I go this shaker, I dip it in the container of rub I need and fill accordingly. Then sprinkle. Pour back the extra for the next rub. Where this shaker becomes really helpful is with rubs that have paprika in them. Paprika based rubs used to stick in clumps on my hands when used. With this shaker its a none issue. Plus I don't have to worry about cross contamination when seasoning raw meats. That has made for precarious one handed situation. Shaker removed that problem. Some mentioned its tight seal......I'd agree, it's not air tight though. It doesn't leak when closed and the three different sized holes are perfect. Especially with my rubs that use dried onions.You probably could use a leftover plastic shaker from former rubs. But, the stainless steel is more durable than plastic and makes for a cleaner process.

My husband bought himself a barbecue smoker about a year ago. Since then, he has gotten into making his own rubs. I got this for him as a Christmas gift and it has gotten a lot of use! It’s a neat little gadget that does the trick. The only drawback was that the lid was a little tight and hard to get off at one point but that seems to have been a fluke and hasn’t happened since.

I make my own rubs. No extra salt. No MSG. No k-rap. Into a large motor-pestile go my ingredients and out of that comes the rub. Some herbs and spices require a larger hole to properly shake out. This shaker accommodates that need.The lid turns on the base tightly. The top rotates to expose small, medium or large holes. There is a spot that does not have any holes at all so you can "shut" the top from spilling should you knock this over. This is not an airtight seal however so expect a finite life to your mixture.The handle is solid. This entire unit seems well made. Overall I'm very satisfied with it and expect a lot of grilling use out of it.
