Does exactly what we need
Used these APs and meshed them with the Draytek 2927LAC router. Reasonably easy but we are network engineers.

Good integration with Vigor router.
Integrated nicely with my Vigor router and meshed in with that as base. No idea of reception/transmission envelope but put in attic hoping that horizontal would get me a down facing pattern. It seemed to work for my house/Gardens layout and lawn mower works better now. £hundreds mostly for that🙇♂️No idea if I could get better coverage by re-angling these as I've not been able to get tech details, really not easy moving about in attic and found WiFi strength metrics on phone a bit laggy; different channel for these helped to tell if talking to them or the base. If this hadn't worked, I'd have chosen the older tech external offering and spent ages doing neat wiring embedded in soffits rather than just running relocatable PoE cables across the attic.

Very poor setup and performance for the price - returned
Started to get worried when the node would not connect straight out of the box without 4 or 5 resets and the App would not connect to either the root or node AP. Ended up setting each AP up via the web console and ethernet cable.Never did get the App to show both APs (even when messed and working) and gave up trying to make it work. After two and a bit hours I managed to get the two meshed up and in sync to discover that a normal house floor drops the mesh link to -79db even with the root AP directly above the node. Note I could not find anyway to change the backhaul channel from 36 - maybe that was the issue? Many little errors (functional / layout / descriptive) in the web console are annoying (pop up error messages not in the guides / drops / hangs being the main concerns) and the firmware update kicks you off and I had to reset the AP to get back on (waited a long time before pulling the plug).Connection for the Mac / iPads / phones worked fine but one Windows 10 box needed a restart before it would connect. Auto change from 2.4GHz to 5Ghz did not seem to happen and I had to set different SSIDs to force devices onto the 5Ghz.Mesh updating of configuration seemed to work but gave no real messages as to what was being updated or to what device - larger installations would need a decent management console / tool rathe than the web interface. Some settings should be off by default - its easy to miss ssh / telnet default to ON as does http rather than https access...The final killer - throughput is abysmal compared to the current 12+year old Apple Extremes here - simple testing showed anywhere from 1/3 to 3/4 slower than the presently installed boxes. Testing was done locally to the LAN but WAN throughput was a similar result. They only get two stars (1-3 gives the first star, #4 gains the second) because:1) The mounting options are very good2) The size is way better than others3) POE power drain are excellent (17w max per AP)4) The web based GUI is better than others I have seen and does not require you to have either a cloud account / management tool or an app.
