Excellent stories. fascinating

I have just begun reading the Kindle version of Christine's new book. I am impressed with the way in which the depth psychology of Carl Jung is explained with such clarity and how the archetypes of Jung's analytic psychology are interwoven with the lives of certain monks and mystics throughout the book. I plan to use the book as the source of a study with older residents at the retirement community where I am a chaplain. Another strength of this work is the explanation and application of lectio divina to enable an understanding of Jungian archetypes in our lives. This book is a valuable contribution to our spiritual and psychological development.

I worked through this book over a long period on my blog, with many friends. That was the perfect way to read it, slowly, with friends. It has something for everyone: Information about archetypes, examples of archetypes from history, Icons, Bible studies on those archetypes, mandala art, and poetry. Talk about a book with something for all! Thank you, CVP!

Our parish spiritual book club is using this book monthly for reflection. An archetype is featured in each chapter in the person of a biblical or historical personage. The author uses many paths to explain the archetype: scripture, art, poetry and Jungian analysis. The book provokes interesting discussion.

Another wonderful book from Christine Valters Paintner! In her thoughtful, encouraging way, Christine invites us to explore the archetypes within ourselves while finding company with the saints across the ages. Like her other books on the spiritual pilgrimage, this newest offering is accessible to the spiritually curious regardless of their level of training or experience, and it provides a rich variety of practical yet creative ways to engage the material.

I just started this beautiful book. So far, the introduction is worth the purchase. As the author states in the introduction, this book is a journey through your inner life. I'm looking forward to further spiritual growth through this book.

I love the format, the readability, the perspective. Fresh and fun icons for each of the saints. I discovered Christine Valters Paintner this spring and cannot get enough of her deep and creative writings!

A delightful and illuminating look at archetypes.Helpful for embracing the parts of myself I tend to ignore or keep in the shadows. A book to be moved through slowly with practices included to help accept you whole self.

this was a wonderful book! her best yet, i think. i really enjoyed learning more about 12 archetypes. The meditations and exercises were excellent. I am working through it during the season of Advent. A great focus!
