Stunning Red
Striking deep red color; does not bleed through my stationery; dries fast. This has good durability, functionality, and is superb value for the money. Will last a long time for me since the bottle size is large and the ink quality is outstanding. Fast shipping, too. Will buy this beauty again!

My favorite ink (so far)
My first ink from Diamene and “wow.” I’ve always liked the ox blood color on leather in car interiors and furniture in general but for paper I wanted similar but different. Like an ox blood with a little dirty motor oil and maybe some rust in it, you know? This shade is perfect! It nailed the above vibe flawlessly. It’s a serious red that looks awfully like dried blood. As if Van Gogh dipped a quill into the stump that was his ear to pen a love letter he knew would go unrequited. It looks great on paper and is also a solid choice for birthday and holiday cards. It gets your attention without demand. And while I’ve hardly used any of it from this bottle I should soon order another just to know that more is at hand.

Favorite color, similar to Levenger Claret
Diamine WRITERS BLOOD ink. I really like this color. It replaces an old bottle of my favorite color that I purchased from Levenger years ago called Claret. Swatching them side by side I can only with difficulty tell the difference. Writers Blood is a deep blood red with a slight purplish cast that I really like. Maybe Claret is slightly more purplish - I can't tell. Writers Blood is very dark, which looks good on the page, but not so dark that it hides the color. It dries consistent and uniform with an EF nib. I am changing all of my inks to Diamine because I like the quality and want my inks' characteristics to be predictable, and the same chemistry in case I decide to get creative and blend them. Diamine does not bleed thru as much as some inks I've tried.

What. Difference an Ink Makes
For this review I inked up a Pilot Animal MR Lizard which was the very first ink in the cartridge. This ink flowed flawless out of the pen and was a noticeable improvement over the inks that traditionally come with pens. I absolutely love the color. I love to watch the letters materialize out from the nib with this ink. I of course got some on my fingers and it washed off fairly easy. It did bleed through quite a bit in the Molskine notebook I used for the photos of the review. A very cool bottle with 80ml of this ink I need to be writing a whole bunch more. And, am excited to. Love it!

Nice ink adds
Nice quality ink. Nice color. Adds color and highlights to my letters and doodles. I’m really enjoying my new hobby of writing letters and diary entries with my growing collection of fountain pens.

Quality ink but not the color for me.
Ink flows great! Color is a rust brown, while some people like this i find it not the color for me. I am going to choose another Diamine color as the ink is good quality.

Amazing Ink
I love how beautiful this ink is, it writes amazingly in my fountain pens (twsbee and pilot). It really does live up to its name is Writer’s Blood because it looks like oxidized blood when it dries down on my planner. I can’t wait to use it in my 2026 Hobonichi!

the color's strong with this one. it stands out very nicely and pleasantly lives up to its name.

the ink AMAZING! bedt match for my Pilot E95s. it's somewhat a wet ink, and a little bit purplish burgundy color which is why I love it. I wish I could post a photo to show how lovely it is.

Really excellent ink, well behaved, looks great and much easier to clean out than many inks. It takes 10-20 seconds to dry depending on the paper and works well with most nibs. This provides the smoothest writing experience of any ink I have tried. It’s just a delightful feel. There is a subtle sheen and more interesting and complex colour outcomes than the other inks in this colour group. It has a distinct red tint to its base and very sharp and clear presentation.
