Cackle Hatchery Chick Season Brooder Starter Kit

It's easy to put together and having everything you need in one kit is great. I just wish the walls were a couple inches higher. I think my chicks outgrew the brooder a week or so early. They were able to jump up on the wall the run for freedom! Luckily they couldn't get out of the room we had them in.

The media could not be loaded.  I have 17 rapidly growing chicks, they started in this brooder at two days after hatching. We're almost at four weeks and the brooder is holding up perfectly. Everything that came in the kit works perfectly and it has been instrumental in starting my new flock off in a happy and healthy environment.

This worked perfectly for our 15 chicks all the way up until they were 6 weeks old and ready to move to the barn.Around week 3, we found that we needed to refill the food & water 2x/day, and at week 5, that wasn’t enough, so we upgraded from the small watered/feeder included in this kit to a traditional size.This kept our chicks safe, healthy, and warm in their most vulnerable stage, and we were very happy with the purchase! We’ll be holding onto it to use for our future chicks.

Great for raising chicks and plan to use some of the rest of the pieces for some of extra roofing in my coop area. Also I got my checks from cackle hatchery and they are so adorable I of course ordered the chicks separate from Amazon. Didn't think they sell chicks...Small tip it's very easy to size down and then back up so start off small if your chicks are very young and maybe don't put the roost boost in until about couple days in.

If I was to make chick set up again I would just buy a rubber tub a heat lamp and a water feeder. Would cost about 40 bucks compared to 90 for this kit.

I absolutely love this brooder. The chicks appear comfortable and moved around each section with ease.Assembly was easy and to the point. Although I needed a little assistance with placement of the lamp it was very helpful to have all pieces already in one purchase.

We got 27 chicks and it worked perfectly until they were ready for their pen!
