Well written book with plenty to teach
I played a variety of instruments like the drums, flute, and guitar when I was in college but never really had the chance to learn how to play the piano. Thanks to Piano and Keyboard for Beginners: Comprehensive Guide for Absolute Beginners on How to Play Popular Piano Songs, Read Music, and Master the Techniques with ... (Learn to Play Instruments Book 1), I am aware of the fundamentals of playing this amazing instrument that has wowed people for decades. This book has taught me how to read music sheets and excellent and easy-to-follow finger exercises plus you don't have to rush things, you can learn at a speed that suits you. If you have ever wanted to learn how to play the piano, this is the best book.

A good introduction to understanding music
This book is an easy going introduction to music theory rather than a piano tutorial.very helpful for getting started with relating chords to melody. Not a piano tutorial in the usual sense which is why i only gave a rating of four stars.

Good for adult beginners
This is a great book for getting you started. It teaches you the correct finger work and how to read music in easy lessons. There are a few mistakes in the book. It doesn’t seem to have been proof read but if you can get around them it does the job. After reading a few pages I had a go at practising the scales using the correct fingers first which seemed to go quite well so then I tried an exercise from the book which was a couple of bars of music and my husband straight away said he recognised the tune so that bodes well.

Theory great, practical not so much.
Great theory book but does not really have a lot of pieces of music to play

Helped me become competent at playing the
This is an absolutely amazing piano book. I didn't know anything about playing the piano (I actually started with the keyboard first) and I know I can play very confidently and it's been around 3 weeks or so. Love it!The book starts by explaIning all the fundamentals you need to know in an easy to understand language and then it proceeds explaIning practical examples with clear explanations. The book is very easy to understand, the instructions are clear and it's obvious it has been very carefully thought out so that the step by step learning process is as easy as possible.Usually it takes me a long time to learn a new skill but this time around I was able to get a hang of things very quickly. And this book has a lot to do with it, on the other hand I might just be super talented at playing the piano but I doubt it haha. I mean, I'm not completely tone deaf but I am no mozart either hah.I always loved music (who doesn't) and was always attracted to the idea of playing a musical instrument but I never got around to it. I'm usually always busy with my studies and my job so any free time I get I like to socialize and have some fun. So on hand I always wanted to learn the play the muSical instrument but then on another hand I wanted to socialize and have some fun until I realized that learning how to play a piano is actually super fun, at least for me.It started of slow because I didn't know anything about playing the piano and in I was a bit afraid that I might just give up after a few weeks since I do have a tendency to sometimes not finish the things I start; when picking up a new skill, trying to lose weight etc. I start of being very motivated the first week but by the second or third week I lose my discIpline and slowly do less and less of what I intended to do.This book was of great help, taught me everything that I needed to know and very quickly I was able to become very competent at playing the piano and now I spend an hour a day playing around and I absolutely love it. This is my new found passion and I'm super happy to have found this book to help me on my journey.

Good explanation
The book is as good as author's ability to explain his subject. And this book is good. It won't make you an artist, but will remove the most frustrating impediment on becoming one, so the rest will be more fun.

Such a useful book
This is hands down the best piano book I read. It’s perfect for beginners because everything is explained so simply.I was able to go from a complete newb to a pretty decent piano player in a few weeks. Mind you, I didn’t have any previous experience with playing any instrument, so I was worried that I was kidding myself.I wanted to learn piano for a long time but I’ve been extremely busy with my studies and life in general. The pandemic gave me so much free time so I decided to stop procrastinating and get to playing! It doesn’t share too much information that you get bored of it. I’ve noticed a lot of books include certain music theory concepts, which is fine but they’re often so dry that I get bored, then I delay practicing the piano. This book shares what you need to know in order to start playing piano quickly and easily. I was able to learn things very quickly and with practice you really start mastering piano very quickly which was great to see:)This book has been truly a great companion on my journey it really takes you step by step through the necessary concepts you need to know in order to master playing the piano in a very short amount of time.If you’re a beginner and want to learn the fundamentals along with some advanced concepts as well this is the book for you. Double down on your passions and get the book!

Learn the basics of playing the piano
This text is a great resource for older students who want to to learn to play the piano by themselves. As a piano teacher, I would not recommend it for younger students as the book moves through the theory very quickly. But if you want to learn some simple songs and add a simple accompaniment, you can figure that out with this book. The chapter on improvisation is pretty good and is a good start if you want to make up your own songs. For all piano students, this is a good reference. I can also use the individual chapters to help illustrate concepts with my younger students. Overall, a good reference!
