The Curious Case of the Light That Always Knew When to Shine
It was a quiet night in the cul-de-sac.The sun dipped low over the hydrangeas. Porch lights blinked on. And inside one smartly lit home, the lamps flickered to life—right on cue.Was it magic? Was it a house elf?No, ma’am. It was my Kasa Smart Plugs doing their thing like the unsung heroes they are.Now let me tell you, this is the second two-pack I’ve bought. The first pair of these little geniuses have been loyally managing my living room and hallway lamps for months now. They come on around sunset like clockwork (or rather, cloudwork—sunset scheduling is a dream), and turn off just after midnight, by which time I’ve fully committed to being horizontal. But it’s not just about convenience—it’s the aura. When we travel, these plugs keep our home glowing just enough to say, “Someone’s definitely home… probably watching ‘Dateline’ with a snack.”And when we are home? It’s a warm welcome—no toe stubbing, no fumbling for switches, just pure ambiance and mild smugness.Setup? Painless. The app? Smoother than my second glass of wine. Reliability? Honey, they’ve got better timing than my best friend’s passive-aggressive texts. If you're looking for a smart plug that won’t overcomplicate your life, break up with your Wi-Fi, or randomly ghost your lamp, this is the one. Actually, get two. Maybe four. Let your whole house feel like it’s got its act together.

Connected a Kasa switch and mini plug
I just wanted to connect together a smart switch and plug. It was very easy to do this. I used the Kasa app to initially establish connectivity to the devices and then to setup an automation between the two. No home automation is required. I only just got the product so I cannot speak to longevity. I tried to do this with Wyze, and despite their smart AI saying that it would work, I could not get it working. Chatting with their support did not help.

They just plain work!
Tapo/Kasa had definitely broken the code on smart plugs. They install absolutely seamlessly, unlike older versions of smart plugs which were a real pain to connect. If there's a power outage, they reconnect almost immediately with no user intervention required. Easy interface with Alexa is a plus. Still have some old smart plugs but I'm gradually replacing them all with Tapo.

Works well.
Works thru another linked app to Alexa. Setup is not on Amazon apps. It is compatible and dies work on Alexa.

Set schedules, save energy, and control devices remotely
Bought this to control lights and small appliances with my phone and voice assistant. What I like• Super easy setup with the Kasa app—up and running in minutes• Works seamlessly with Alexa and Google Assistant• Compact design doesn’t block the second outletWhat could be better• App interface could use a refresh for easier scheduling• Doesn’t support Apple HomeKitBottom line: Reliable and compact smart plug for automating your home. Perfect for beginners or smart home enthusiasts, but look at Meross Smart Plug if you need HomeKit compatibility.

The Couch Command Center: Kasa Ultra Mini Smart Plug Makes Smart Living Easy!
As someone who loves making my home smarter without breaking the bank, I recently picked up the Kasa Smart Plug Ultra Mini 15A. Here’s a review focusing on its convenience, ease of use, and affordability:Convenience:The Kasa Smart Plug Ultra Mini is incredibly convenient. Its ultra-mini size means it doesn’t block other outlets, so you can use it in tight spaces or alongside other plugs. Setting it up is a breeze – just plug it in, connect it to your 2.4G WiFi network, and you’re good to go. There’s no need for a hub, which simplifies the whole process and saves you from extra clutter.Additionally, the ability to control the plug with voice commands through Alexa or Google Home is a game-changer. I can turn my lights on or off just by asking, which is super handy when my hands are full or I’m lounging on the couch. Plus, with IFTTT integration, you can create custom automations, like setting your coffee maker to start brewing when your morning alarm goes off.Ease of Use:Using the Kasa Smart Plug is straightforward. The Kasa Smart app is user-friendly and guides you through the setup step-by-step. It took me just a few minutes to get everything configured. Once set up, you can control the plug from anywhere using the app. The app also lets you set schedules and timers, so you can automate your devices to turn on or off at specific times. The plug itself is simple to operate. The on/off status is clearly indicated by a small LED, so you always know whether your device is powered. The app’s interface is intuitive, and even if you’re new to smart home devices, you won’t have trouble figuring it out.Affordability:One of the best things about the Kasa Smart Plug Ultra Mini is its price. For a smart plug that offers such convenience and compatibility, it’s very reasonably priced. You get two plugs in a pack, making it an excellent value for money. It’s a great way to start building a smart home without spending a fortune.Pros:Compact Size: The mini design doesn’t block other outlets.Voice Control: Works with Alexa and Google Home for hands-free operation. No Hub Required: Easy setup without extra equipment.User-Friendly App: Simple to configure and use for scheduling and automation.Affordable: Great value with two plugs in one pack.Cons:2.4G WiFi Only: The plug only supports 2.4G WiFi, so it won't work with 5G networks.Limited to Basic Functions: For more advanced smart home integrations, you might need additional devices.Final Thoughts:The Kasa Smart Plug Ultra Mini 15A is a fantastic addition to any home looking to start with smart technology. It combines convenience with ease of use and affordability. The compact design and straightforward setup make it a great choice for beginners or anyone looking to make their home a little smarter without spending a lot. If you’re looking for a reliable and cost-effective way to control your devices remotely, this smart plug is definitely worth considering.

Mini and Smart, I mean Smart!
This ultra mini smart plug really saved the day! I have a crowded wall outlet, and its compact size fit perfectly into the cramped space. The most impressive part? I didn’t even have to set it up manually. Since I use Alexa at home and selected the option to pre-register the device during checkout, all I had to do was plug it in. The Alexa app detected it instantly. Honestly, the most "difficult" step was renaming the device in the Alexa app, everything else was seamless. What a breeze! Kudos to Kasa and Amazon for making smart home integration this easy.
