First Corinthians - Women's Bible Study Participant Book: Living Love When We Disagree

Highly recommend this study.Easy to read because of the conversational style. The video (bought separately) does add depth, but this study could easily be done as a stand alone.

I was a little skeptical at first but I really like her insight, questions and relatability. Some questions are super elementary but it gets you to think more. Her in-depth questions are excellent and even the dig deeper ones. I didn’t do ALL the questions but read all of them. This would also be excellent for a bible study group too.

This study brings 1Corinthians to a life changing level. Life application is all through it. Thank you for your insight, Melissa!

We have been going through this study in our women's group. We're all enjoying it. The daily study is long so be ready to spend a good amount of time reading. The questions encourage diving into the Word. One of the things I appreciate about each of the days is that more often than not, when the author suggests reading a scripture outside of 1 Corinthians she has that scripture in the margin so you're not having to flip back and forth through your Bible.So far we're all getting a good deal out of the study.

Our church's women's Bible study group chose to do this 6-week study over 13 sessions so we would cover one or two chapters per week instead or two or three. The subject of Living Love When We Disagree is so timely in today's cultural climate! Our group found the study to be very relevant to our lives.I prefer more of an inductive type study, but this was more focused on application, which was also good. The author chose to either completely skip, or relegate to downloadable commentaries, any controversial passages, such as speaking in tongues or the role of women in the church. We also noticed that the author often would ask a question and provide a space to respond, then give the answer directly after. When I write a study, I try to use more open-ended questions that do not lead to just one "right" answer.

This is a sound study, and it includes five days of homework per week. I gave it only 4 stars because the homework for each day tends to take a really long time. I recommend skimming through each day and focusing only on the meat. Remember, it's about meeting with God and learning and growing in your walk with Him. It's not about getting all the answers written down in your book. If you find this study takes your attention away from your personal relationship with God rather than adding to it, then I suggest spending most of your time in this study reading and meditating on the Scripture Melissa gives for each day and talking with God about those issues it brings up for you personally.

I was part of an online study group who used this study. In a world where we seem to disagree on many things, this study helps point us in the right direction. The author takes us through the book of First Corinthians. I am sure there are areas she could of went deeper than she did. The study gives one plenty of points to apply and meditate on, as well as leaving areas to dig deeper for ourselves. If you're searching how to live loved while disagreeing this study is a good place to start.
