Heat Storm Classic Smithfield Portable Infrared Space Heater

I purchased this heating unit only a few weeks ago, and while it is effective in heating (I do love infrared heaters) I’ve found that the thermostat feature is already malfunctioning. This is extra frustrating since I will set it at a relatively low temperature in our room at night, and wake up HOT with the unit running on high and using up electricity. It doesn’t seem to matter if I have it in regular or eco mode. When the thermostat does work it kicks on every 10 minutes or so to maintain the temperature, but since I’m unable to reliably use it at night it defeats the purpose. I can’t say I would recommend this to anyone.

I have a gas furnace for my primary heat source. The thermostat is located on the ground level of the house. I have a finished basement where my TV is and so spend most of my time down there. Problem is; with winter coming on it gets VERY cold in the basement compared to the upstairs. Was down in the basement about a week ago. Was a comfortable 68 upstairs and 60 in the basement. Yikes. Decided to get this little heater. What a difference it has made. I can set it for 68-70 and it keeps me comfortably warm down in the basement. It pushes out a lot of heated air. The fan seems to be a very high volume one so it can really move the air and get the warmth circulated. You can hear the fan when its running but it by no means "loud" or anything. Thermostat is very accurate. Just set it and forget it. It circulates on and off to maintain the temp. Very happy with the Heatstorm heater would definitely recommend.

Small but mighty! I needed a heater that would take the chill off the lower level rooms. It has certainly lived up to all of my expectations. Just set the thermostat at the desired temperature and this heater does a fantastic job of heating the entire lower level. I was skeptical about this product being able to heat that much area but it lives up to its claim of ability to heat up to 1000 sq ft. And it looks nice as well. Plus it has rollers so you can move it quite easily to any area you want. I read a lot of reviews about different heaters before I made my purchase. Glad that I did and glad that I chose this one!

This worked well for a couple of months, then stopped heating as well. When I unplugged the heater, the plug was hot to the point of burning my hand and the outlet was burnt brown. Thankfully we never ran this when we weren't at home. Into the garbage this fire hazard goes...

The product smoked and smelled on the 4th or 5th time I ran the heater and wouldn't run after that at all. I called Amazon who put me in touch with the manufacture. Amazon left them a VM to call me, I left two VMs and sent an email. The called asked a few questions and then sent an email looking for pictures of the unit and proof of purchase. After sending them that info they came back with this email and want me to pay for shipping a failed unit back to them. DO NOT BUY!!This is our warranty policy:We have a 30-day return policy and a 1-year limited warranty If you are within the 30-Day warranty we will either repair/replace your heater. If you are outside of our 30-day return policy, you will need to pay to ship your heater back to us. Picture of the silver sticker on the back of the heater.Once we receive this information, we can begin to process your warrantyAnd when I asked if I paid to send the failed unit to them would they send me a new one back. They emailed back saying they would repair it or replace it.

Do not buy this heater. Going on my second year having this heater and it sucks. Temperature read is not accurate AT ALL and the heater only works until it gets to the set temperature. So if I set it to 75 it literally reads the temperature of the air inside of the unit so after the unit heats up to 75 it just shuts off. And while the fan is off, the temperature is not being read, so it just displays 75-86 degrees when set to 75 and the surrounding air is probably somewhere around 66 degrees. Prob takes 15 mins for it to kick back in, realize that it isn’t 75 and then it heats up for another 5 mins and displays the same WRONG temperature. I made the mistake of buying this heater, I recommend you do not do the same. I have followed the instructions, tried in multiple rooms of varying sizes, etc. Apart from all this, the air output is horrid even when it is working.DO NOT BUY THUS JUNK

Purchased theHeat Storm Preston Portable Infrared Space Heater a few weeks ago, item arrived promptly, well packed & once unboxed, I had the accessory roller feet on in a few minutes, popped the batteries into the remote (a nice feature to the package, but really not necessary since you can operate the controls from the front of the unit, but a nice touch!) and Wa-La! The unit powered up and began doing it's thing in no time at all. It's just the right size for my apartment, and portable enough I can move it around from the living room to the bedroom when necessary, and easy to store in a closet when it's not needed.I've only used it a few times since it arrived in December, but I anticipate come January and February and perhaps well into March, the situation will warrant me augmenting my place with a little additional heat on those exceptionally chilly-willy wintery days, & I'm confident this device will perform as expected.I did purchase the extended service/warranty for 2 years through square trade, just in case there is some unforeseen malfunction, as I've not got the time or patience to pack things up & ship it back, so Square Trade takes away that hassle for me, and I figured for the cost of a few beers, it's worth the extra expense for me.I selected this item based on the reviews prior to my purchase, and if you're on the edge as to if this would be a quality space heater for you, this here gent says: Go for it!
