Great multitool
Great ergonomics, better than the 18v, and not too heavy with plenty of power to get the job done. Great sanding bottom of doors with 4 1/2" orbital pad, no more need to whip out the ext cord for the corded sander, batteries lasted longer than expected during this job (2.0 ah). I would only deduct 1/2 star (if possible) for 2 things: the hex key for tool attachments and the battery position feels backwards. More multitools are now keyless and there's simply no reason to hold back just to differentiate from the 18v model - please keep the LED light, which the 18v lost due to its keyless system, this is a must for the DIY'er and a big help around the house in places where there's no light. Battery is positioned so that the battery indicator faces forward, which you wouldn't give two thoughts about but feels weird in practice and can be a small pain to have to flip the tool around to check the battery - place the battery the other way so all we have to do to check the battery is a flick of the thumb and keep going (even a battery change in this position would be better). These 2 items are minor and this is an excellent multitool, typical Makita quality through and through - these tools are built tough, can take a beating and just last. Easy 5 Stars!

Quality 👌👌👌
I'm on the 18v system from makita and wanted to get their multi-tool. However, the 18v felt too big and unnecessarily ✨chaunky✨ I decided to order this 12v instead and wow. Perfect size for what I do and need it for. I can see it being under powered for some applications compared to the 18v but that's to be expected. For most applications, this thing is great. The only thing I'm not stoked about is having to use an Allen key to swap blades. I wish it had the same blade change system as the 18v. Luckily, the 12v comes with a key and a slot for key storage on the tool itself.Overall, if you don't mind the feeling of the 18v (at home depot if you want to hold it), I'd probably spring for that instead just because of it having more power. Otherwise, this is a perfect tool.

Multi tool
This is a very basic multitool. It uses a hex key to secure the blade. The hex key sits on the base of the multitool. This is an old makita design, I've had this same hex key holder on other makita tools. The vibration keeps knocking the key out of it's holder. I've lost the key several times. Keep the key somewhere else or tape it in with electrical tape or something. It's a 12 volt tool. The batteries are ok, has an indicator of battery charge on the battery which is pretty cool, best part of the whole kit. Spend the money, get a better multitool, this one dies the job but the hex key ruins it.

Unique and handy tool.
This tool was quite handy helping me making cuts in modifying my solid oak entertainment center to accommodate a 65" TV. I was able to make cuts that I would not have been able to do with a jigsaw or any other tool I know of. It was lightweight and easy to handle. I needed to switch batteries a few times but it they recharged quickly and I was able to finish my project in a timely manner.

Great tool!
I was hesitant on buying the 12V but this tool is amazing and the battery life is really good! I love that it has two batteries! Very satisfied with this tool for cutting Sheetrock and other household demo related work. Very satisfied with my purchase!

Light, powerful, and a delight to use.
This is one of my best purchases of 2020. It’s really been surprising. The fact it isn’t an 18v was a bit worrisome at first, along with the fact these batteries don’t fast charge, but each lasts a long time. I have yet to wait for a battery to charge to keep working. This is the kind of tool you use in spurts, and that gives ample time for batter charging. As far as power, I can’t imaging an 18v doing a better job. One issue I do have is the Allen key on the tool keeps falling off the tool, so keep an eye on it, or keep it in the case. Not sure how I lived without this tool as I find used for it all the time now.
