Embedded Systems: Introduction to Robotics

A MUST, providing useful details, but hard to identify the targetted audience, exactly.
Difficult to identify the intended audience. Sometimes too basic, other times too much "trying to be simple" and ending by making it more complex than it should, still, at other times, way too succinct, almost cryptic, not seeing the "goal" trying to be reach. But definitively, a MUST to get some finer details (in extra from those from videos on TI web site) with that, and the bargain price (as per today price for most printed book on paper), I promote it to 4 stars. I haven't read it cover to cover, yet, though.

Changed my mind.
UPDATE (11.17.2020):As I continue to use this book, it still continues to be a great resource for the MAX and the two courses I'm taking were we are learning about embedded systems and robotics. However, I would add to use some caution. There are a few details that need to be verified and coordinated with the labs and videos online. DOUBLE CHECK what you have and are using. I spent a bit of time swirling with things not matching up as quite a bit of the material references an encoder with 32 counts per revolution. The new MAX (as shown on the cover) uses 360 counts per rev.----------I was not happy when I first purchased this book. I've sense changed my mind. After six months....and being in an independent class working with the MAX robot....this book has shown to be valuable for pieces of information. It is a struggle as I don't find it to align with the labs that are available....as in....the book points to code that doesn't exist....and there is some information missing for subjects. It isn't always clear what what code needs to be added or modified. The labs online are not clear. So trying to tie the PDF labs, the code, and the book together is a challenge.BUT the information is in this book. It just takes a bit of time to read and understand. I think if you buy the MAX robot, then you need this book.

Lots of great detail
I have been perusing this book for a few weeks and find it to be a very helpful guide to robotics. I might give it five stars when I get a chance to put some of the work into a project. "Embedded Systems: Introduction to Robotics" has a great deal of content and it is organized nicely starting with the basics and quickly moving to advanced concepts.
