Tried it, like it !
Okay, I've had the plasisizer for a few weeks. The weather was bad so I waited until I could use it before writing this review. Here is my condition. It works, I mixed a small amount into my cement mix and watched what happened. The mix required less water and decreased drying time a little. I'm making veneer stacked stone from molds so I'm mixing small amounts at a time so I've been able to see the effect it has on the mix and make a few without the plastisizer.I bought kind of a rusty red color so I use it for part of the base color so that also cut down on the amount of cold needed for my base mix.I will buy it again as neededUpdate: There is one thing that should be mentioned, it has an unpleasant smell so if you're using it in a enclosed area you won't like the smell but it dose go away as it dries.

Does work, results vary with brand of concrete mix!
This product does work with bag-mix concrete, but what it does depends on the brand of mix, and the quantity of admix you use.For Western Wa. (it seems concrete mix has regions, who knew?)Sakcrete does not respond well to it. It'll work but not fabulously, and in the 3-bag loads I was doing (180 lbs mix, 7.5quarts water) I still ended up with a really dry mix that stiffened up after a few minutes in the mixer. (This behavior was seen with doses ranging from 18-30G per 60/lb bag)Basalite concrete mix behaved better, and responded more to this admix. 180lbs of mix with 7.5Q of water and (90g) of supercizer (30g per 60lb bag) resulted in a much looser mix that consolidated well under vibration and was easy to finish.

fixing the cracks in my driveway and overlaying it to look like new (better than new)
SI had a large DIY project, fixing the cracks in my driveway and overlaying it to look like new (better than new). I used Rapid Set Cement All to fill the cracks. Superciser 5 DID work to with the Rapid Set Cement All. I then used a V-notch trowel to trowel over the entire driveway with Rapid Set Cement All. It bonded very, very well to the old (properly prepared) concrete. I then used a 1-1 sand mix (portland cement and sand) and a squeegee to cover the entire driveway. The Superplastiicizer 5 is what allowed me to use a squeegee for this. The project turned out great, and would not have been possible without the use of a superlasticizer.

clumped and didn't set. had to remake my countertop without it
We dumped it in, per the instructions, and got lots of clumps that we ended up having to pick out by hand. The concrete never fully set. After 9 days we removed the form and it fell apart. The one I made without the plasticizer was just fine.

Not what I was hoping
I’m going to have to try it several ways to make a final determination; however, my initial feedback is poor. The instructions only give dosing requirements and lack detailed application. Online tutorials are lacking as well. I used this to soup up some concrete for casting Olympic weights. The powder clumped up and became a doughy ball. Then the bleed water was a nasty mud brown.

Works well
I have been using this product as an additive to resurface a 45 year-old concrete driveway that had eroded to an exposed aggregate appearance. I mixed a very dry mortar of 1 part portland cement, 1 part sand, and water (plus a latex admix). Mixing in a sprinkle of this superplasticizer allowed the mortar to flow very easily over the (well cleaned and moistened) surface of the rough concrete leveling it to a like-new appearance. This work has only gone through a few freeze / thaw cycles in NC, but is holding up with no degradation.

Produces dense concrete with perfectly smooth surfaces
I use it for filling foundation forms and filling concrete block, in applications where preventing water permeation is an important consideration. I use it together with latex fortifier and 3/4" fiberglass fiber. This product increases concrete slump, which makes the concrete fill the forms perfectly, when I remove the forms, the surfaces of the slab are perfectly smooth and with no visible porosity. A few times when I had excess material I poured the excess into molds, and the shapes produced were very smooth, strong, and have a porcelain-like quality with no visible porosity.

Good Quality For The Cost - Will Affect Color
I haven't messed with a lot of superplasticizers prior to using this product. It does a great job for it's intended purpose. Yes, the other reviews are correct regarding the foul odor, but that seems like a fairly standard characteristic of chemicals and building materials. As the concrete cures, the odor does go away. The only negative side to the product is if you're aiming for a specific pigmentation in your concrete, this will affect it slightly.I would also suggest sifting this as your applying it because it does have a tendency to clump.Overall though, I would definitely use it again.
