The Natural World of Needle Felting: Learn How to Make More than 20 Adorable Animals

This is a gorgeous book. It is full of inspiring pictures and tons of different unique and interesting techniques that you don't see in other books. The sections on tools and materials are pretty thorough as well. It does focus a lot on using pre-felt and reclaimed items like old wool fabrics to use for cores, which I really appreciate but some people might not. Some of the animals are a bit on the cuter side, while others are a bit more realistic. Everything in this book makes me want to try to make it.My only real complaint is that my book was packaged poorly and arrived a bit damaged. It was just loose in the box with plastic padding on one side. The side that wasn't protected has dirty scuff marks on the bottom edge, and a couple spots are rubbed right through the cover paper. Tbe corners are a bit beat up too. The dirty marks seem like they might wipe off but there is no fixing the abraised spots. I ordered this as a gift, and a replacement would not arrive in time for Christmas so I will be letting the person I'm giving it to decide if they would prefer to have it replaced.

Precise instructions with lot of photos and onfo

Nicely illustrated. Probably above my level of skill. The projects are very nice but I needed a bit more detailed instruction. Again, probably because I am a novice at needle felting.

I have several felting books covering different techniques and styles of felting. This one is by far my favorite. I love the detailed descriptions and all the additional information that is lacking from other books. It is well written, detailed and has beautiful photography. This book should provide any felter with inspiration and also teach new and experienced felters new techniques. Buy it!

I have several books on needle felting, all of which have greatly helped me learn to do this wonderful art form. This book has the BEST METHOD FOR ATTACHING LEGS to the animals' body. Much better than the H frame construction. The author also has awesome ideas for creating settings, dying, creating textures, etc. My background is art teacher. I also sculpt in paper mache, polymer clay. Needle felting is much easier to "fix" than clay.

The penguins are the best & cutest of all the projects in the book. There is a lot of good information, easy to follow instructions & more projects than I thought there would be. I recommend.

I love this book! Well written, nice projects, instructions, and lots and lots of photos. It's like a beautiful course in felting! This is my new favorite felting book!

Lots of good information and good pictures.

This is the best needle felting book I have bought! Unlike some this really book is really beautifully made has lots of clear glossy photos and clear instructions. Each project is explained in great detail. There are lots of projects including making the scenery such as trees which was a nice surprise plus a use for pine cones! The instructions are easy enough to follow as a beginner though the book would also appeal to more professional experienced felters! Highly recommended.

The models represented here are totally unrealistic looking and, in my opinion, childish and all looking very "samey". We are urged, for instance, to add "cute chubby cheeks" to all animal models, including a hedgehog. The methods used are also very particular to this author. It seems to me that this is a book for children, rather than adults, and I have found more usual methods for making much more attractive models online, which can be accessed for free.

A wonderful book with clear and concise instructions on how to achieve some beautiful animal subjects. Can't wait to gather up the necessary kit to get started.

Ok but not as detailed as it could be. Good info on materials however most of the projects use pre felt rather than starting to felt from scratch.
