I have 2 or 3 of these now: they are GREAT! IF YOU CAN INSTALL A REPLACEMENT LIGHT SWITCH, THEN YOU CAN INSTALL THIS SWITCH,(BUT THE EXISTING SWUTCH BOX MUST HAVE BOTH LEADS, HOT AND NEUTRAL; NOT EVERY SWITCH IN THE WORLD IS WIRED THIS WAY.) You do need to understand the directions to integrate with YOUR EXISTING ALEXA SYSTEM. but once it is setup it is great to be able to just holler "Alexa, turn on the front porch light"( or whatever. George Jetson should be so lucky!)

So far 5 stars. I bought this one and another brand for a bathroom remodel. Both are going to control lights that can be dimmed. This brand worked well right out of the box. There's a main power on off switch at the bottom. Once it's on, you can leave it on and turn the lights on and off with the toggle. If you want to dim, turn the lights on, then hold the toggle down until the light starts to dim. Opposite, hold the toggle up until it's at the desired brightness. Easy enough! Plus there's a small dim warm-white light within the toggle so you can find the switch in the dark.The other brand I bought, the internal light was blue, and would constantly flash (I'm assuming because it wasn't connected to the internet yet). The controls worked pretty much the same, but more buggy, more delayed, and sometimes backwards. So I'm going to return it.I saw some reviews stating that the switches don't fit in a multi switch panel. To that, I'll say that my house was built in 1998, and these switches fit right in with no issues. They do provide a slight amount of wiggle room where you screw them into the wall, so make sure it all fits before you tighten everything down.

I purchased this toggle switch to replace a Jasco ZWAVE toggle that was old and I just couldn't get to connect to my network properly after a home renovation. Instead of wasting more time trying to get the old switch to connect to network, I purchased this one figuring it's only $27 so I'll just start anew.FYI...The old ZWave toggle worked fine as just a dumb light switch, just no network connection so I couldn't automate my front porch light through Alexa.Well this new one installed pretty well. No issues and I was able to connect it to network using the recommended Smart Life app and then connecting to my Alexa app. Everything worked perfect and I set it up to make light turn off/on at set time. All great!Well...at first sunset the light comes on like it's supposed to, but I wake up the next morning and light is still on when it should have turned off. I get notification that it's not connected to network. I then also realize the switch is NOT even working as a dumb switch. I can't get my front porch light to turn off. The toggle is NOT working. I shut down power, remove the switch and also remove it from Smart Life app figuring I'll just try and start over. This switch is dead....period. I hook it back up and front porch light comes back on and I can't get it off because toggle still not working. Holding down for more than 10 seconds per manual doesn't reset or put in pairing mode. Dead!I pull the old ZWave toggle out of the trash can, hook it back up and it's working just like it was before as a dumb switch.Returning this and trying something else as it's total garbage.

The switch works as advertised. You do need to have a neutral (common) wire available. I've installed many similar switches. Took less than 30 minutes. It does work with an existing switch plate cover. We had purchased a novelty switch cover years ago, and we wanted to add a smart switch without having to replace our switch cover. We already had the Smart Life app for some other smart devices. The app immediately found and installed the new smart switch without having to go through all the installation steps. I like to download device instructions when I get a new device. My only gripe about this product is that they do not have the downloadable device installation/user instructions on the Amazon site so that a buyer can quickly download it. The switch works as advertised, so far (2 days).
