Love this hourglass. It looks elegant and when you lay it down to stop the time, it doesn't roll away. It's very sturdy as well. I use it to time my toddler doing her activities.

I purchased this as a Christmas present to my 7 yr old from her "fairy" who lives in a fairy house by our garden. It comes in a soft blue box and thin silky blue protective cloth. In more than happy. Its unique and my daughter loves it. It looks much more expensive than it is.

It is a little big than thought and that is good. The photo that is used to show this item makes it very hard to tell its size. It is much nicer that the photo as well. We timed it a couple of times and it runs out at 31 minutes not 30 however for our needs it is just fine.

If you're looking at this item because it's inexpensive and pretty then you'll be happy. My biggest complain about this from an appearance perspective is that the inside of the glass is a little smudged or scratched from the sand on one side, but it's hard to see if you aren't already looking for it. From a timer perspective though? Some inaccuracy is unavoidable with hourglasses, but I bought this specifically because I wanted a 30 minute timer as stated in the item name at the time of purchase/review. This is actually a one-hour timer, though, so be aware of that before you buy.
