Advanced Elements 12-Volt Pump

Works great, very fast

I purchased this 12v inflator to inflate a party raft that I recently purchased for my boat. It's a large raft so I needed a pump that would inflate it quickly AND provide enough pressure so I didn't need to top it off with another pump. This inflator works perfectly. It was quick, not too loud, and is small and light in your hand. The included adaptors snapped onto the pump and fit my raft perfectly. It also deflates (in reverse) in about the same amount of time. It's too early to say how durable it is, but I hope it holds up. If I encounter any issue(s), I'll update this post, otherwise assume it's still running great!

Proper inflation pressure is crucial to proper functioning of the Advanced Element inflatable kayak. This electric hand pump is more convenient than hand-pumping the kayak, but it will not achieve the required final pressure. So, as other reviewers have pointed out, you need the hand pump for the final inflation pressure top-up. But if you just use the hand pump alone, it's going to be tiresome and slow. This electric pump appears to draw at peak current more than 2 amps, and even if momentarily this is enough to prevent me from using my portable lithium power station (shuts down due to excessive current surge) and therefore I need a long 12v extension cord to power this from my vehicle 12v outlet since the 6 ft cord that is provided is just a bit too short to be convenient.

At first I was very excited to try out this product. I thought that it would save a lot of time and effort over using the hand pump that I have. However, I was annoyed by this pump for two reasons. First, it was much slower than I expected. So, while it was certainly less difficult to partially inflate my kayak with this pump, it seemed to take longer than with the regular pump. Second, this pump is incredibly loud. I would certainly not have purchased this pump if I realized how loud it is. The purpose of kayaking, for me, is to go out and enjoy a day in nature. The pump is so obnoxious that it seriously impedes that while it is on.I used the pump once, and I haven't gone back to it. I still bring it along and I would use it in a pinch, but for now I am much happier with my hand pump.
