I do a lot of cooking and am always looking for different recipes to give me ideas to vary our diet. I am also into healthy foods and avoid GMO products as much as possible. Braggs has become a brand I trust since I use Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar which is totally non-GMO whereas many vinegars are made using GMO soy. I very much believe that "you are what you eat". My husband and I are both in our late 70's, and neither of us have any health issues nor are we taking any medications at all.I recently came across a recipe that called for nutritional yeast, which I had not heard of, so I did some research on it. I found that although nutritional yeast is used as a seasoning, it contains protein and a number of B vitamins that most diets are deficient in. It should be noted here that B vitamins are an addition to some brands of nutritional yeast, but not all brands include them. Bragg Nutritional yeast does include the B vitamins, including vitamin B12 which seems to be the vitamin many are deficient in. Not all brands of nutritional yeast contain all of the vitamins and minerals that this one does. You should check what is included in any other brand you might consider.The main benefits of this nutritional yeast are:- Protein. Nutritional yeast contains all nine essential amino acids that you must obtain from food. It’s also a source of high quality plant protein- B vitamins. Fortified nutritional yeast is especially rich in B vitamins, including thiamine (B1), riboflavin (B2), niacin (B3), and B6 and B12- Trace minerals. These include zinc, selenium, manganese, and molybdenum, which are involved in gene regulation, metabolism, growth, and immunity- Provides a tasty way to add B vitamins and trace minerals to food without taking more pills.- A great way to thicken creamed soups or other recipes that thinned after freezing.As for uses of nutritional yeast, you can use it:- as a seasoning for popcorn, pasta, salad, or casserole dishes- as an umami flavor in soups, stews, or chili- as a savory, cheesy flavor in vegan sauces- as a thickener for soups and sauces- as an ingredient in smoothies- as an addition to any recipe already containing cheese, ie. macaroni and cheese. Can't have too much cheese, right?Personally, I am open to using products that add health value to foods. Tonight, we had homegrown steamed scarlet kale for a veggie, and I mixed 2 tsp. of this nutritional yeast into the kale after steaming and adding some butter. The recommended amount for a serving is 2 tbsp. but I was conservative since the seasoning is new to me. My husband didn't taste a difference, but I tasted a hint of cheese. I will add more to the next veggies we have since I did like the flavor it added to the greens. Although the flavor of the seasoning, depending on how much you use, is subtle, the additional B vitamins added to foods is much better than having to take daily pill supplements. I will likely be using this as a seasoning to add flavor and B vitamins to the greens I grow and use as sides. I do like the flavor it adds and will be experimenting with adding it to other foods and recipes.I will update this review as I gain more experience in using this healthy seasoning. I am all for anything that adds nutritional benefits to to foods we eat. Personally, I don't see a benefit over the original blend as the garlic is not at all noticeable.I hope this review was helpful for you.

Tasty but not over-powering.
I've been using nutritional yeast for well over 10 years. I add it to different recipes. Bragg's is good, more on the mild flavor side than some I've used. It seems to have high nutritional value, especially with B vitamins which is what I'm looking for.My favorite and easiest way to use it is with rice, pasta, or other grain. Add vegetable and protein, then season with salt, pepper, nutritional yeast, and olive oil to taste. Very simple and tasty. I sprinkle the yeast in the dish and on top of tofu.

vegan cheese powder?
The size is good for the value of your money. The texture is powdery, flaky, and yellow in color. I wouldn't be able to tell the freshness of the product, considering it is my first time trying it, but I like it. The smell is very potent, smells like yeast, but the taste is great for basically anything. I use it to marinate, on salads, pasta, and anything that you'd like. I use it a lot when cooking. Fortified or unfortified depends on the person. Fortified is just added nutrients and saves money.

I use this, but I won’t buy it from these people anymore because they have issues with quality and I found a whole pound of it. Cheaper at Walmart. It comes in a sunroof vinyl bag much better better value.

Healthy, versatile, but let's be real about the "Cheesy" hype
I've been getting into plant-based cooking lately and finally picked up some nutritional yeast after seeing it recommended everywhere. Overall, I'm happy I did. It's full of vitamins, which is great if you're vegan or cutting back on animal products. It's gluten-free and lasts a long time in the pantry. From a health and nutrition standpoint, it's a solid win.Now for the taste. Everyone keeps saying it tastes just like cheese. I don’t know who started that, but we need to have a chat. It definitely has a savory, umami flavor that can be described as cheesy-ish, maybe even nutty or tangy, depending on what you pair it with. But if you're expecting it to be a direct swap for parmesan or cheddar, that's just not going to happen. It's more of a flavor booster than a cheese clone.I've tried it on popcorn, stirred into pasta sauces, mixed into soups, and blended into vegan dips. It works great in those roles and adds a depth of flavor that I really enjoy. The flakes dissolve easily and blend in well, and I appreciate how it enhancess the dish without overpowering it.So yeah, it's good stuff and I’ll keep using it. But let's stop pretending it's cheese in disguise. It's something different, and that’s okay.

Delicious and nutritious!
This roasted garlic nutritional yeast is delicious!I bought this to put on my popcorn, but added some to a bath of tuna salad, and it sis not disappoint!! Ita loaded with flavor, nutrition, and it was also one of the best batches of tuna salad I've made in quite a while!The flakes blended into the tuna salad very easily and arrived super fresh! I love adding this to anything that I'd use garlic on, such as pasta, garlic bread, mac & cheese, on too of scrambled eggs, inside omelettes or on burgers.

I have been using this product for several years now. I love the extra subtle cheesy flavor it bring to so many dishes.I also use the some of the other flavors I found by accident! Highly recommend!

It is good. Just as expected. Nutritious Cheesy-like Vegan flavor enhancer that can be sprinkled on top of, or added into many possible recipes to enhance nutrition and flavor. Good source of B Vitamins and Protein.
