desertcart.com: BLAME! 2: 9781942993780: Nihei, Tsutomu: Books Review: Otherworldly perfection. - I was a bit afraid to read the continuation of the volume one, that volume was among the most amazing stories I have ever read. Yesterday I read this second volume and I happily say the story is still perfect. I think it is getting to be my favorite manga ever. About the translation of these masters editions (although I don't know the previous ones) I love the character is "Kirii" instead of "Killy," makes me feel less guilty about not knowing Japanese to read this manga in its original language. Usually in science fiction stories the writers tend to introduce explanations for the reader, it is useful but many times it can look artificial. In Blame! instead there are few clues, everything is shown and is enigmatic. The detail of architecture is awe-inspiring, expressing the quality of Tsutomu Nihei as a visionary architect. The design of creatures and the proportions of the different humans are great, there are beings of terrible appearance as persons of the uttermost beauty. The story feels quite real, no life seems granted and, to be honest, this world is one in which all has been lost. All has been already destroyed, not by evilness but simply by a terrible mistake, as those satellites that explode because the manufacturer used a diferent metric system to the software engineers. It's just perfect. Review: Superb - This is one of the best, most action-packed, and frightening manga series I’ve ever read. Highly recommended for all fans of SF horror.

Nihei's art is a treat
There's a lot more going on in this volume so do your best to pay attention to all the details. I'm not very good at that as I wander off being mesmerized by the art and imagining what all the sounds (character voices, machine noises, etc.) of that world would be like. Sometimes it's difficult to tell what's going on because the art is so dark and wild, but it's still great nonetheless.

BLAME!
BLAME! has proven to be an exciting and wonderfully disturbing read! Tsutomu gives us a view into a brutal future humans unknowingly created for themselves. What happens when our tech goes unchallenged and unchecked. The world is massive, bleak and ruthless. With long stretches of little to no dialogue the art tells the story. Before you know it you will be ordering the next issue.

This Is How You Do It Folks
There are six (6) of these Master Series of the previously released BLAME! story I found out a few days ago and I'm glad they are in this LARGE format. I enjoy the side and main story lines quite a lot. It's intense seeing the artwork this big and easily being able to catch what is being said and who is talking, which one doesn't always get with the small or on line versions.
