This was one of the best prices I found after looking around at the big box and other stores. My rental unit is in need of some very serious cleanup, so this was one of the many projects on my list. My toilet would have black streaks running down into the toilet bowl after flushing. After cleaning the bowl several timed and doing some research, I found a possible solution to the problem--the dirty toilet tank. Yes, the tank needed some help. This was an excellent cleaning agent to clean the toilet tank. Drained out the water from the tank (shutting off water supply), then mixed a solution (1/2 cup of citric acid with about a gallon or so of hot water just enough to replace what was drained) then added to an emptied, rusted, dirty toilet tank. Let the solution sit in the tank overnight. Turned on the water supply and flushed. No more streaks of black, so far and the tank is a wow 90% cleaner. Will repeat in a few weeks.

I like this brand and have been happy with other PURE products and this citric acid is also high quality and a good value for 2 lb. Citric acid is helpful in laundry, cleaning hard water black manganese deposits in toilet tank and so many other uses!

I use this in my water softener to help keep the resin clean. For me I use 4 Tbs for every 40 or 50 lb bag of salt.

The product is good. The packaging is not. Paper bag was inside a plastic bag, both of which were ripped and the product was all over the inside of the box. Update: seller offered a full refund because of poor packaging. I'm impressed.

I recently became aware of how "not- good-for- you" those plastic covered "Platinum Plus" dishwashing pods are for your health (amongst other things they contain many chemicals and can interfere with the beneficial flora in one's gut) and are also ridiculously expensive. I live in an area with really hard water and despite having a whole-house water softening system my dishes often come out with a sort of (mineral) "salt crust" on them as does our2 water distillers. I liked the fact that citric acid is both natural and (even) edible) so, I did some research and discovered that if I used only 2 tablespoons of citric acid-along with 2 tablespoons of "washing soda" (another natural product sold here on Amazon) not only did my dishes come out clean without any "soap" (detergent) but my dishes AND dishwasher were SPARKLING at the end of the cycle. I also put 4 cups of citric acid in my water softener unit and used citric acid to remove hard water mineral deposits (that can build up in your washer and shorten it's "life") in my clothes washing machine! I am now washing my dishes more healthily for PENNIES a load. I am an "old dog" who was able to learn a "new trick" when I opened my mind a little!
