How heavy exactly are the trekking poles? 4 ounces each? Just wanna make sure of the exact weight.

Hi there, it's 9.7 ounces per pole without accessories. If you attach the baskets and rubber tips, it'll be 10.2 ounces per pole. Hope that helps!

How long are the poles at their shortest? Will they fit in my suitcase?

It's 24.5 inches short when collapsed. However if that still won't fit your suitcase, you can disassemble it and the length will go down to 21 inches. It'll be very easy to put it back together if you disassemble it.

Do the new Trailbuddy screw-on rubber tips screw on to these poles? The pictures don't show a lower set of threads on the tips.

Makers of Trailbuddy told me yesterday that they had worked on a new set of threads that attach the rubber tips so that they cannot come off. They promised to send me a new lower pole with new tips. I do not know when this will come/ and be offered online. It sounds as if it will be soon...in the next few weeks.

Can I hike with them through rivers? Can these get wet?

Yes, in fact it would be good to have these if you're going through rivers - they'll save you from accidental slips especially if the rocks are a bit slippery, and you can also use them to gauge and test the ground (or riverbed) that you're about to step on. We'd recommend giving the poles a thorough drying afterwards though by taking them apart and patting dry or air drying. As with all things metal, rust is an enemy and drying the poles will help prevent that.

必要十分、コスパ良し

購入後、1回雪道のハイキングで使用しました。特に不都合なく使えました。レバー式は調節の動作が楽でいいですね。ボタンロックやツイスト式は力が必要なため、非力な私には大変でした。レバー部品の銀色のネジが緩いとポールがしっかり留まらず、使用中に長さが短くてなってしまいます。ネジを締めてみたら、大丈夫でした。その調節に慣れるまでは少しコツがいりそうですが、慣れれば問題ありません。(購入直後はレバーでロックしても留まらず、不良品かと焦りました) 逆に、ネジをキツく締めすぎると、レバーがロックの負荷に耐えきれずプラスチックが割れてしまいそうな気がしました。特に気温の低い時期は気をつけて使いたいです。ケース、スノーバスケット、予備の先端カバーなども付属していて、コスパいいです。カーボン製や有名ブランドのアルミ製に比べてしまえば重いですが、使用中は重さを感じません。頑丈そうなので、雑に扱っても壊れなそうな感じが大雑把な自分に向いてます。この値段なら、充分です。ハイキングにガンガン使っていきたいです。
