Vax VAX1113186400#1 Triangular Steam Cleaning Pads, Blue

After previously buying and returning some other pads that would not fix on to my Vax steamer, I decided not to take any chances again, so bought the branded pads instead. These fix on with a draw string rather than hook n loop so I think they will last longer than the original pad provided which lost stickiness after a lot of washes. The blue pads are extremely thick and good if the floor is filthy - ideal if you have dogs with mucky paws. The white pads are thinner - although I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the box as they are thicker than I expected. They work great on floors that get less traffic. Overall these are good quality pads and I am pleased with my purchase. Yes, there are other brands selling more pads for less money, but as I discovered, they are of much poorer quality than these.

The white microfibre cloth cleans really well and fits my steamer well. The blue fibre cloth on my steamer is fine when you push forward but on pulling back the steamer head keeps lifting which makes floor cleaning a bit hard To do, it might get better when it’s been used a bit. But I still like these and feel they were good value for money.

These are by far the best cleaning pads we've ever used. In terms of value there are two things you need to know: 1. FUN! It looks like you've strapped Elmo to the bottom of your mop. I've never had so much fun as I have imagining that I'm pushing Elmo around the kitchen on the end of a stick! 2. SERIOUS GRIP! They lift all kinds of stuck on dirt. I mean, these things grip the floor like nothing else. In fact, they grip the floor so well that within five minutes of first use I snapped the handle clean off the mop. Seriously, they grip THAT well. ---- Bonus tip: Replace your broken mop handle with a handlebar from a drop-handle cycle.

I wanted some extra pads to go with my Vax S2S Bare Floor Steam Mop and these seemed ideal as I liked the idea of the coral pads. Two coral and two microfibre pads are supplied and they are official Vax ones. Unlike the pad that comes supplied with the mop, these don't just grip onto the base of the mop, you place them on and then tighten using the drawstring. The main disadvantage of that is that you have to bend down to fasten them on, probably not a big deal for most people, but a point to be aware of if you have issues with your back. I like that the microfibre pads are white as I can see clearly when they need to be changed. The coral pads are great on our smooth floors but not so great on our bumpy kitchen tiles (which are rough slate) as they do not glide very smoothly. Both types of pad can be thrown in the washing machine and seem to wash well with no detriment to their performance. On the whole I am pleased with these and it's really handy to have so many extra pads to hand.
