I ordered three different brands of thermometers and tested each of them against my original B-D glass mercury thermometer. This one was the only one which registered exactly the same as the mercury "gold standard"! I ordered a second one for my Mom. It is slim, flexible, fast and accurate, and she can easily read the numbers and hear the audible beeping when the temperature has registered. It is also waterproof and has lots of features. The manufacturer also provides a nice two-piece snap together molded clear plastic case which protects it and keeps it sanitary. Also provided are 30 free probe covers. I highly recommend this thermometer.

Hi, this thermometer did NOT work right out of the package. I followed the instructions to a T and used it. The first reading seemed hypothermic so I did it again and got a lower reading....yeah don't buy this.

I bought 5 of these thermometers when they were at an insanely low price (less than a buck) only because I was shopping for disposable thermometer probe covers and these came with 30 each. I ended getting 150 probe covers for much less than it would have cost to buy the covers themselves.5-stars for the probe covers, which work better than the current best seller on Amazon. The plastic tears nicely after placing the cover and they are really easy to put on. They work perfectly with my old Vicks digital thermometer.1-star for the actual thermometers, all 5 of which are inaccurate. I verified this by conducting an experiment. Although they are not meant for measuring liquids, I used a reliable instant-read cooking thermometer to bring a mug of water to exactly 100 degrees. I measured the temperature of the water using my Vicks thermometer with and without a probe cover and it was accurate within 0.2 degrees and repeatable. I used each of the White Coat thermometers and found with the probe covers, they were on average 1.8-2.2 degrees too low compared to both the cooking thermometer and the Vicks thermometer. Without the covers, they were better but still 0.7-1.1 degrees too low. There was inter-thermometer variability with the range between the high and low thermometers of 0.4 degrees. Besides being inaccurate, the thermometers are imprecise with inter-reading variability with the same thermometer of up to 0.4 degrees between consecutive readings.The manufacturer and seller can claim they are not designed to measure water. All you have to do is use them on yourself and you'll see measurements that are too low. This is unacceptable and can be the difference between deciding to take a baby to the hospital for an evaluation or deciding to medicate at home.I bought 5 of these, so it's not a one thermometer problem. I suppose I could have gotten an entire batch that was defective. I'd be returning all of these if I had bought them for the actual thermometers, but since all I really needed was the probe covers, I'm keeping those (and the batteries) and putting these untrustworthy thermometers in electronics recycling.

I purchased this a couple of months back. I haven't had to use it until now. The thermometer will not go past 96 degrees. I try it on myself to see if I was holding it wrong on my daughter and it gives me the same number. Complete trash. Waste of money. Took my daughter to the er to see if she had a fever when she got sick.

UPDATE 8/28/18:Merchant reached out to us and offered a replacement or refund. Changed to 2 stars for good customer service.- - - - - -We've used on numerous occasions now and it doesn't seem to work properly. Almost every time we use it my husband takes a look at the result and says: "Well I guess I'm actually dead right now". Don't waste your money! I should've sent it back when we first received it and the temps seemed off... but thought maybe we somehow weren't using it properly. We've used it several times in a row and have gotten varied temperatures!

This White Coat Fast Reading Digital Thermometer for Oral Rectal and Underarm Use did not function from the onset.Does not have any alarm sound. When on-off button pressed , supposed to beep when ready. Does not beep. Shows a temperature of 91.2 in LCD window and changes to LO. Low batter icon does not show if battery is the problem. Made inChina. If I can find the manufatuerer's address, I will write them a letter askinng for replacement since I do not think I can return an item of this sort especially in a virus pandemic. It has a one year waranty. Good luck to me. Ha. I will buy another at Walgreen’s where I can test the on off button before I buy it . Seldom do I buy anything from Amazon that disapppoints, but I am usually smarkter on what items I buy. This is not a smart online purchase. The design is like all other cookie-cutter digital thermometrs I see. Nothing special. It is a cheaper one, so maybe in this case you get what you pay for. Or it is just a lemon. Who knows? It just is a waste of money for me.

Quick and accurate and easy to read. I bought a different digital thermometer several years ago that was difficult to activate and impossible to use. This one is a joy! My husband obliged me by coming down with a cold and fever 3 days after it arrived, so we got to test it right away. He was also pleased. It's easy to use and quick. It can be used orally, rectally, or under-arm. Comes with a pack of sanitary plastic sleaves if several household members are using it. But it can be turned off and the "probe" end washed under running water with soap, so no problems there. Delivery was quick, and received a couple of emails from vendor just checking that we were satisfied with order. Great purchase.

This thermometer operates inconsistently. Sometimes it works and the next it moans instead of beeping. Other times it says LOW which I assume means low battery but I just received it last week. I reached out to the seller but have not received a response. I am going to return it and try another model.
