Be prepared!
Here is my experience. First, you have to break the tire bead, at least one side. This is either a lot of manual work or you have to use a tire machine like the tire shops have. I paid $10 a tire to have the bead broken off one side of each tire. I used some boards to keep the tire open enough to replace the sensors. IMPORTANT note, be careful. If you don't take the tire off, it can slip and you can get your fingers pinched! After I installed the sensors, I aired the tires up and the beads resealed. Once I put the tires back on the car, I tried resetting the TPMS. No luck. Although these sensors are programmed, you need an electronic tire tool to read the code and update the car's computer. I luckily found a tire shop that was able to read the sensors and update the computer for minimal cost. As soon as this was done, everything reset and they are working fine.Side note, if you don't mind the work and extra time, you can DYI. The whole experience cost me under $75 total and about five hours of my day.
