Max Lucado!! This is another wonderful work by the author that has such a wonderful way of teaching and explaining the Word of God that I would imagine if, the more resistant or ignorant were to encounter this-- book it might possibly cause a beautiful change in hearts. A real keeper! Thank you again 🌷

This book is an amazing book and will give you perspective in life. Max Lucado has really gone out of his way to make all of us who choose to read this book really look into what is important. This book is extremely uplifting and gives hope. I have reached a point in my life where I depend on uplifting reading due to what I would describe as a really messed up sense of tragedy in my family.This book along with the Bible are helping me through what many would believe to be the impossible. When one experiences so much loss and so much pain in life, Only God can lead the way. I was drawn to this book simply due to the fact that it could bring hope and it has.The Burdens discussed in this book are the following:-the burden of a lesser God-the burden of self-reliance-the burden of discontent-the burden of weariness-the burden of worry-----Big chapter.....-the burden of hopelessness-the burden of guilt-the burden of arrogance-the burden of the grave-the burden of grief- the reason I​ read the book-the burden of fear- another reason to read the book-the burden of loneliness-the burden of shame-the burden of disappointment-the burden of envy-the burden of doubt-the burden of homesicknessMax Lucado manages to bring hope to every burden and aspect of our lives. I know that everyone seeking a path will find some sort of hope when reading this book. It is worth the time and written so well that you'll ready it quickly. I found this book to be so helpful when I was going thru a major struggle. Each chapter is short & packed full of encouragement. I keep copies of this book on hand & give it to people as they face a crisis! This was a great price so I ordered but I’m going to keep it in my guest room. Now I need to order a couple more copies.

I was drawn to this book because I do love this Psalm and was intrigued to see what this author had to say about it. After years of prodding from my wife to read Max Lucado, I tried one. Thus began my journey. In this book he continues in the same quiet and reasonable appreciation the sacred messages left for us. He does not merely illustrate with anecdotes he has mined the text for its deeper meaning whilst placing the wording in the setting of the original times and practices. Shepherds, for instance anointed the heads of their sheep with oil to protect them from flies. Thus the phrase in the 23rd Psalm becomes more immediate and more relevant. This is the way Lucas I operates and this opens up the often mysterious passages and phrasing to reveal and to become more memorable and thus applicable. Max Lucado is a natural teacher - just as his model, Jesus, was.

Have not had a chance to read much of it yet but it looks great.

I don’t like this book but it was selected for my book club. I don’t like it because it is a Protestant book, not Catholic.

Loved this read! Came at a time I needed it. It’s uplifting and I definitely recommend! Great insights for anyone and everyone!

I am using it at a book club at my church, and it is in great condition and very readable.
