Perfect with A1 cards!
Be careful with use on the A2 cards.Use A1 cards for actual speed with this!!!A2 needs its own additional hardware for that A2 speed.A2 cards may also cause software damage to the boot partition with this gadget...A1 cards should be the Only ones sold anyway these days...A2 cards should only be included WITH gadgets/devices so that people know that that particular device is built to process such a speed increase.By default, going faster isn't going to be in the same little square chip. You'll need additional hardware for that speed... (something we don't really think about).Be careful, technicalities aren't always Advised against so consider this a nugget.Bottom line:Use this adapter with A1 cards.Let it cool down every 8-10 GB with A2 cards.Don't go below a 15% battery with this device..

No problems
Bought this for my dash cam. Works fine. Only checked it once and hope I never need to look at it again.

Not drop proof. If dropped ruins your microSD card.
Worked fine until it dropped about 6-10 inches on my desk. Since there was no protection the dropped phone with the reader and microSD. The drop resulted in the microSD card jamming into the reader at an angle. This little drop rendered the reader unusable (after removal of the card) and the card ruined. The card did not work in other readers. This reader was unable to read any other cards. So I lost data on a $90 card. There are other readers which protect the SD card - the card does not stick out and is the the first thing that hits a surface if a phone is dropped.

I bought this specifically to used with my M4 iPad--doesn't work there
The device works well in my Mac laptop. For some reason it does not work in my new iPad, which is where I'd hoped to use it. I have no idea why it does not work there. The same micro-SD card mounts with a (much larger) USB-C hub connected to the iPad. I can see the contents of the card on my iPad if I leave it in my GoPro and connect the GoPro to the iPad with a USB-C cable. One of those tech mysteries which results in everyone pointing a finger at the other guy. At least it was cheap.
