Most of the one-star reviews say that the stainless steel screen mason jar tops get rusty. If you look at their photos, you will notice that the rust is only around the edge of the screen, where it touches the screw-on ring that holds it in place - the screw-on ring that's not stainless - the screw-on ring that's covered with rust. The stainless steel screens don't rust - the screw-on rings rust, and some of the rust from the ring rubs off on the stainless screens. The screw-on rings are purchases separately, from a different supplier. Those rings rust. The stainless steel screens are perfect. They don't rust, and the rust that gets on them from touching the rings can be washed off. The screens don't let any seeds get through, but they let all of the water through easily. The screens are perfect.

I use these for my small mouth mason jars when I want to drain liquid from the jar without losing what’s inside. The mesh is fine but all liquid comes out when the jar is turned upside down. The type of material seems to be good and so far no issues. They are easy to clean and they fit good.

They fit the jars as expected. Rings are able to close around them. Screen is an acceptable level of sturdy. I got these specifically for drainage of water from jars. Haven't had them long enough to test any levels of possible rust or repeat use durability but upon first inspection they seem to be fine. If this review hasn't been edited assume they are still serving their purpose or lasted an acceptable amount of time.

Easily fit to mason jars. Easy to clean. Works as intended.

I use these on mason jars that I fill with scent beads. The cover allows the scent out but keeps dust and dog hair, etc. from getting into the beads. It also allows me to shake up the beads and add more scented oil easily at any time

I can't tell you about sprouts, but I can tell you that they are great for raising insects. I have different needs than most. These are heavier than expected, and have a tight enough mesh to keep everything protected and in place. If I want to use them with the smallest fruit flies or beetles, I have no-see-um mesh that I can wrap these in and it works like a charm. If you have a need for airflow in a canning jar, this product has you covered.
