kindle version has an illegible table
All of the photos and illustrations in the Kindle version are very clear, but I can't say the same for the charts/tables. One in particular, "Types of Flooring", looks like it would have an entire page of useful information, but the scan of it is so poor that you can't read ANY of it, even if you try to zoom in on it. I have tried viewing it on a 10 inch tablet and on a PC screen.Other than that, however, the content is organized well and very helpful for someone with zero horse and stable experience.

Great guide to owning and operating your own stable!
As a novice I was heartened by the simplicity and yet comprehensive presentation of what one would need to know if they decided to own and maintain their own stable. However, after reading Cherry Hill's book Horsekeeping on a Small Acreage I was disappointed that there were not color photos. This might be because this volume was copyright in the year 2000 and the volume Horsekeeping on a Small Acreage was copyright 2005. Both are great books.

Would have liked the pictures in color in the book but that ...
Very informative book. Would have liked the pictures in color in the book but that is minor. Otherwise, very helpful book for we โnewbiesโ trying to set-up the safest barn setting for our animals.

Stablekeeping: A Visual Guide to Safe and Healthy Horsekeeping (Horsekeeping Skills.)
This book is a great read for a new horseman or even someone looking to refresh their memory and skills. Many excellent tips and tricks are provided throughout as well as so very important, useful information. A great book for some who doesn't fully understand the thought process and the effort used to go into building and running a safe barn!

Nice to browse through, great ideas, due to the nature of the topic it's a bit dated.

Nice tips!
I've been a horse owner for 30+ years and still found several great tips in this book. It would be invaluable to a newbie. Might as well start out right. Kudos!

Good solid advice
I bought this book to go with my Equine Science Diploma, online for Guelph University. It has lots of good advice and tips but it is for beginners and advanced. I think all stables could benefit from this book but I wouldn't go out of the way to buy it other than for my course.
