Takes your shower to the next level
September of 2022 we remodeled the master bath from top to bottom. My wife had a design planned down to the cabinet hinges but allowed me this one indulgence. We got the 4 outlet valve and controller and it is a luxury that is quickly becoming a necessity. It did not appear to be difficult to install, our contractor commented that he had not installed one of these yet but after reviewing the instructions he stated he could handle it with no issues. He was true to his word and it worked perfectly right off the bat. One thing I would recommend is to make sure the valve is mounted where you can get to it easily, it has 2 filters that can get clogged and you need access to handle that if it pops up. Another thing is be sure you can access where the power supply and battery backup connect to the valve. The first month we had it we had a power "flash" where we lost power for about 2 seconds and the controller display went blank and we had no connection to the device. I unplugged the power cord and battery pack, waited about 30 seconds and plugged them back in and we were back to normal with all programming intact. There have been no issues since then. It is quite the luxury to lay in bed and tell Alexa "Ask Moen to start preset 1 (or 2), hear the shower come on and just lay there until it heats up to your pre-set temp where it pauses and waits for you to push the button to restart. You get used to this real quick. You don't have to start it with voice control, you can just as easily push the button to activate one of the presets and even adjust the temp on the panel or through the app. You can set it to activate 1 outlet or all 4 at once and can change these during use with the touch of a button. Our set up had a dual shower head and 2 body sprays (body sprays count as 1 device) in front and a hand held device and 2 body sprays on the side set closer to the back so 2 people can shower at once. If you take a minute to adjust all of them you can get all 7 devices spraying you at once. The water pressure with all of them open isn't great but it's still a luxurious feeling. And the lack of knobs and diverters gives the large shower a clean look. Set up on IOS was a breeze and I'm still learning more about the device. I used my iPhone and had no issues but it will not work with my iPad. This was disclosed in advance so it was not a problem. The only issue I'm still working on is the naming protocol for the presets. I named preset one John's shower and preset 2 Jane's shower but they will not respond as I want. If I say "Moen start preset one" I get a 105 degree shower that pauses when it reaches temperature. If I say "Moen start John's shower" it heats up to 100 degrees (the default temp) and does not pause, just continues to run. Same with Jane's shower. If anyone has figured this out yet drop me a line. I gave it 5 stars with no hesitation. If anything changes I will update my review.

Best shower control ever
So my shower door broke. A cheap little pivot pin on the bottom corroded and snapped in half. No replacement available, so I got a new shower door delivered. After taking the old frame off, I found the shower was leaking. Time to tear out the tile and replace it. And since I was going to have the wall open, it made sense to replace the mixer and diverter valve. While going through Amazon, I saw this and checked it out. Twice as much as replacing the plumbing with like stuff, but so, so worth it. Be aware you have to have access to the plumbing wall, and a minimum 14" wide, 29" tall access panel. My valve and head are in a wall that opens into the toilet closet, so I didn't have a problem, but if your shower has the valve in wall shared by a hallway, bedroom, or (shudder) outside wall, you'll want to think twice before getting this. Installation is easy and very simple - I did it DIY, and I'm not a plumber. The battery backup is a bit of a rip-off (seriously, Moen? $65 for a plastic battery case and cable?). I'd still do it again. Updated after complete installation and testing: As the other reviewer noted, my phone and the controller wouldn't connect. My phone is an Android, and I'm running the (currently beta) latest revision of the software, Android O, although I also tried it when I was running the latest release, Android N. I tried several times to get it to connect, but it just wasn't happening. So I went a different way. My work phone is an iPhone, which immediately found the controller and went through the installation without a hitch. The controller was added to my Moen account, so it also showed up on my Android phone, and now it's all working the way it's supposed to. My guess - without knowing anything about how the Moen app is written - they're trying to do something the default security of Android won't allow, because it's a suspicious connection. So it can't connect and we just time out. Updated again: It stopped working with my Android phone, consistently shows the controller is offline, so another call to Moen support. I'm used to being an "early adopter", so problems that don't make things unusable but can be fixed aren't a show-stopper for me. I have to say they're being very attentive to this. They've called me back a couple of times to try different approaches and get more information. In the mean time, it works from the controller, and I'm still happy with it. I've found the shower temp I like (105F) and it alerts me when my 10 minute shower time is up.

Works great when it works but has died 8 times in two months
Updated review: - This product is simply not ready for primetime and you can tell that it's a water company trying it's hand at tech. The water part works well. The tech part, that it requires a 2.4 Ghz network, that it's homekit integration isn't documented, that the website doesn't work well, that it didn't register our account properly, that it resets itself randomly all just point to a company out of it's depth when it comes to making long-term workable app & tech products. Unfortunately, this product is fabulous when it works and a lovely luxury, but it just doesn't work. We originally had two problems: 1) The app is really hard to configure and get working - it's like working with apps from 10 years ago. 2) Biggest problem is that the unit keeps losing power which means you can't have a shower until you open up a wall panel, unplug, replug, and reboot. What a PITA. After working with tech support (leave it unplugged for 5 minutes (which if you have the battery backup means going into the shower encloser and fumbling with cables), and make sure it's on your wifi (which has to use 2.4Ghz - and that's inconsistent - see Reddit) and which took 37 attempts to finally work we did get it connected to the server and it worked great for about 30 minutes. After which the app lost our credentials and couldn't find them again. This has never happened to me across the hundreds of product and other accounts I've used in my life. Stay away, this product just isn't ready for prime time. It's a product from a water company that thinks adding a screen and an app is easy stuff. It isn't and they failed.

Have been using this shower system for about a year now. It's great it auto turns off on loss of power, auto temp adjustments are a live saver, really nice clean display too easy to read from a distance. Only downside for me is the company is strictly America's only - their app is country locked which makes support impossible and there's no timezone that matches where I am.
