KitchenAid Gourmet 18cm / 7 Inch Santoku Kitchen Knife, Sharp High-Carbon Japanese Steel

The knife arrives in a well sealed plastic pack. It was a struggle to open it and remove the actual knife from within the packaging layers. I ended up taking industrial strength kitchen scissors to the pack and with effort managed to cut it open. The knife seems well made and is fairly well balanced. A little heavy on the handle side, but the handle has a solid feel and is comfortable to grip and hold. The blade, as anticipated is sharp and I’m hopeful that with care and regular attention to sharpening, it will remain sharp and easy to use. I find this size if knife useful for most cooking jobs, from cutting veg to chopping meat, portioning chicken through the joints and fine slicing tomatoes. It’s versatile, easy to wash by hand ir on the top rack of dishwasher. Comp,etc with a safety guard it does everything I want.

Excellent very sharp cleaver nicely balanced, good quality with a fairly required protective sleeve (put it unguarded in your cutlery drawer at your peril!). Good value in Black Friday sale

This is my everyday knife. I bought it because the dimples function to prevent food sticking to the knife. It is very sharp and cuts with confidence. The grip is comfy making it easy to use. It is a good size for an everyday knife and comes with a sheath to store the knife, protecting the edge. Overall it is sharp, looks nice, highly functional.

I'm a hobby cook and always keep an eye for quality products at a discount. I bought this knife as an Amazon Resale product (rated very good condition) and have been thrilled with it. The steel is hard and the initial edge is sharp and will likely hold for a while based on the cutting angle. The handle is solid and feels great in hand. The 11cm size is perfect as a utility knife, and I've used it daily since it arrived and haven't had any complaints. If you need a utility knife this is as good as you're likely to find without spending 2-3 times the money.

I liked the handle, easy to hold and comfortable. The blade is very sharp, and comes with a blade cover which was very handy. Good size, and makes me feel like a professional chef when using it. I do like the size of the blade. And overall great value for money.

Great kitchen knife. Got much better after sharpening it, it struggled a bit with onion and tomatoes initially.
