This product DOES NOT FIT 2018 JL SPORT. There is no mounting point under the hood for the strut to mount to. This is absolutely not an installer error either. It simply cannot mount to the hood unless you want to drill into your hood.

Wont work if you have an aev style snorkel (ones that require a cutout in the bonnet). I tried running only one on one side - yes it was strong enough to hold the bonnet open on its own - but that lead to the second issue where it was so strong it was twisting the bonnet and in the end I wasn't able to use them at all.

The hood struts are a great upgrade to your wrangler. It allows you to bypass the whole act of manually lifting the hood and fighting with the support rod while balancing the hood with one arm. The installation instructions are pictures and not very detailed, but there is a YouTube video that shows how to construct and install the product. Overall it's a very good product, installing is very easy and it's a great upgrade.
