Timken 3604 Seal

Went into my 93 Ford 8.8“ Differential. Didn't have a socket big enough to fit over it for tapping it in, so I drilled a hole in a block of wood for the differential shaft to fit through and tapped it in.

Timken is a trusted brand I’ve used on several vehicles. Good quality, noticeably better than OE seals.

Fit perfect in my 2003 Mustang GT. No leaks in about 2 months or so, so far. Great quality

These are of great quality, just as I'd expect from Timken but...After a few weeks I'd notice this seal start to slowly leak.I took the whole thing apart, replaced the crush sleeve, going by the book. I made sure preload on the pinion bearing was perfect also!After a few weeks, the new seal started leaking again, just like the last one.So I thought about trying a different brand and got another high quality seal from Yukon.I did this horrible job all over again...only to see this freaking leak return!!!Finally, I was watching a video on something that involved the differential and the mechanic said to always use a Ford seal if you don't want the "drip drip".I couldn't believe it but did as he recommended and bought a genuine Ford pinion seal...for the same price by the way.No more leaks!!!!I don't fault Timken or Yukon but obviously there is a difference between their seals and Ford's.This was a very difficult lesson to learn but now I know!

2000 V6 5-speed Stang. I kept screwing up & literally removed & reinstalled this seal 3 times. One month later, still not leaking. Good job, guys 👍🏻

Seems to be a good product. Fit well. Time will tell how long it holds up.
