Q: How much does the bar by itself weigh?

Here is the CAP barbell web page and it gives the weights of each of their bars and dumbbell bars....the threaded bars with the collars weigh 1 pound more.http://www.capbarbell.com/Bars/1inch.html

Q: Will this fit all CAP plates? I have a CAP dumbbell set and I don't want to buy new plates if I get this.

I have several varieties of Cap Plates and they all fit....as Frankie said back on 6/29/2104 all inch holes plates should fit.

Q: Is there any difference with a straight or ez curl bar. Is it still as effective as using a straight bar .? Is there much of a difference .?

Less torque on the wrists with the Z bar. You can also do close grip bench presses with your hands 3-4 inches apart with little strain on the wrists. I work up to 192 pounds for sets of 12 reps on this exercise. I use to do them at the gym on the straight Olympic bar with a 10 in grip with 205 lbs or so for 10 or more reps and would have severe wrist pains in not time. This exercise with the Z-Bar gives you a closer grip, more triceps and no strain on the wrists. I am 62 with a true 19 inch arm and have NEVER used any steroids in my life since I began in the summer of 1968.

Yes the Cap Barbell Weight Bar I bought came with threaded collars. The collars have internal washers that help to keep the collar tight against the weight plate. The collars stay tight on some exercises, but not all. I would recommend a spare pair of clips for some exercises.
