Thrilled!!!
This tripod is exactly what I was hoping to find!!! I needed a light weight tripod to support a new small pochade paint box I recently purchased to use when flying to destinations for painting trips. My current tripod and Guerilla box work well when using a car but are just too heavy for a airplane suitcase when you are trying to travel light. This tripod is not only light weight but appears very sturdy and easy to use. The best part was it fit perfectly into the tripod mount on the bottom of my new pochade box which was made in China so I wondered if it would work. I especially like the quick release mechanism which opens on both sides making it easier to mount the box. The legs are very easy to extend to variable heights and then fold up around the tripod head to make the total length shorter. The design is super compact yet with all the functions of a standard heavier tripod. It comes with a sturdy black carrying case that easily slips over your shoulder. I was amazed how fast it came in 3 days and how well packaged it was. I can't praise it enough! I am so grateful to this wonderful company for their incredible design. It's well worth the price if you want a quality, well made yet truly light weight tripod under 2 lbs..

Lightweight, but sturdy and well made. Excellent price (on sale)
I added this to a growing arsenal of tripods...some that need to be retired. The Sirui 284 is the first of this brand, but it is definitely superior in weight/construction compared to my other "travel" tripods. Although some of my prior purchased travel tripods are lighter in weight, none offer the quality construction and features of the 284. I purchased the model that includes the SL220 extension, and particularly like that it is not integrated into the center column. Rather it is detached and can be kept in the bag, until needed. Feature wise, the 284 has nicely designed leg angle locks, and uses twist leg extension locks--all very well constructed and light weight due to the carbon fiber. The max diameter is 29mm, so given the size, very reasonable. It's much more rigid compared to my other travel tripods. Because of the absent center column, it can be set up with the head only a few inches from the ground. I combined this with a new Avella V1 ball head, which is equally a winner. Only 9oz with a 36mm ball, and very well made. At ~$20 ($8 coupon), it was a real bargain. Combined, the 284+ballhead comes in at ~3.5 lbs+ a few oz for the extension. Very pleased with this and it will be my new travel setup. BTW, my other main options are larger/heavier carbon fiber units, but are much sturdier and great for more demanding uses and where lugging them around is not an issue. They weigh 6.5lbs and 7.5lbs with a gimbal and ball head, respectively.

Great for Plein Air
Very stable, small, lightweight, able to be weighted to stabilize in wind. Fits the day tripper easel, strada (many times better than the actual strada tripod), a bit small for my ArtPro but a larger Sirui or a smaller ArtPro would do the trick. Plein Air painting is already full of challenges without using a crappy tripod. 3 weaknesses: the center pole is not height-adjustable, limiting how low it can go, and there is no slot for the ballhead to be lowered forward, nor a center hook for weighting. All of this together can make it topple in wind.

Incredible quality tripod!
I’ll start by saying the only thing that I compromised on was height for a tripod. I also bought the k&f 94” tripod. I do a lot of hiking and traveling and although that one was nice, it was big, bulky and had stuff I most likely would not use. This one on the other hand is super light, compact for its max height of 50”. Sets up in a flash and the pivot on the ball head is super smooth. Has all the locks and buttons you need with nothing you don’t. For the price, the quality of this tripod is outstanding! Also I use a 600mm lens with a Nikon z7ii with the vertical grip and it is rock steady. Highly recommend checking this tripod out for yourself.

Lightweight
Sturdy enough for my nikon Zf camera or a point and shoot. Held stable with 40mm f2 lens. Would not use for dslr or camera with big telephoto. I like the light weight, that is why I bought it. Folded small but the folded circumference is too big to fit into the tripod sleeve of my backpack. Good purchase for travel and long hiking. I have heavier tripods that weigh 4 lb or more so this sirui fit a specific need at about 2 lb weight. As an update, I am liking this less as I use it. The center column does not reverse for macro use. So, overall I would say that this tripod fits the need for very low weight of 2lb, sturdy enough for a small camera. I find that I am still taking my 4 lb MeFoto tripod with me most times when I hike for landscape photography since it is sturdier and I might want to use my heavier 70-200 mm lens.

Very small and light - good for small mirrorless kits.
This is a nice quality travel tripod with a decent head. It is very small and light. The legs and head are not robust enough to handle heavy bodies and long lenses. A mirrorless kit with reasonable size lenses works well. This tripod would not be stable enough if there is a strong breeze. My primary concern is the bottom leg section. It is very small in diameter - only 2/3" at the foot. If you do not extend that section the tripod height is pretty low. There are only a couple leg positions.

Super tiny when folded up. Lightweight. Excellent for travel and backpacking.
Well made and comes with plenty of accessories. Love how tiny this tripod packs down. Another bonus for people who want to use it with an Action Camera like the DJI Osmo, you can mount the selfie stick to this tripod by flipping the screw mount to the 1/4 inch side. The selfie stick from DJI will extend over 8 feet high and can still be used detached for selfie shots.

Super light yet sturdy
I was looking for something light and strudy for when I am hunting and using my spotting scope. This tripod is super light, but strudy. Fast and easy to deploy and adjust the legs. Ball head included is OK and I replaced with a ifoto cobra 3 quick detached. Packing into my hunting pack is easy as it is only a little over a foot when folded up. The leg mechanisms are simple and the knob mechanisms for leg adjustments are simple and sturdy. Easily handle the weight of my 80mm spotting scope and very stable.

Steht stabil, wenn die Kamera oben befestigt ist. Für große Personen eher ungeeignet, da es sich nur bis auf eine Höhe von 140cm ausfahren läßt.

quality little unit, I use it for painting outdooors but if i had a bajillion dollar camera I would feel safe attaching it to this tripod.
