Great for kids who love Paw Patrol
Bought for my 5 year old who loves Paw Patrol. Encourages him to practice reading rather than learning the words as they are all frequently used ones.Perfect for road trips and travelling. Kids can read, write and discuss the words/scenes and tasks.

Para practicar inglés
Bueno para aprender y hacer un repaso de palabras con la patrulla canina. Colorido y entretenido. Para que se aproveche bien, igual sería para niños de 6 años

Excellent for kids about to start school
I was worried, given that this is a Nickelodeon-franchised book, that it would be full of Americanisms, but, thankfully, it uses British English, so there is "autumn" instead of "fall", and so on.It is pitched at the perfect level for kids about to start school. The familiar characters from Paw Patrol are used to leverage learners into inital sounds, and provide context to make the learning effortless. There are one or two surprising vocabulary choices, but, overall, this is a well thought out book that does what it sets out to do very well. The print quality is very good, and the cover is well designed. There are several different activities, such as tracing and colouring (again, with UK spelling!) to make learning interactive and reinforce the key messages, and a scheme to monitor progress by colouring paw graphics at the front of the book.It is a fairly slim volume, but at less than £3, it's very good value indeed.Highly recommended.

And Why Not?
By the time your child gets to 'work' with this book they will be well past their first one thousand words but learning to write - why not? These as well could be the first one hundred to cover. These words do not follow any particular phonemic pattern but are the basic words that are easy to remember and will help your child get more familiar with phonemes at a later stage. Thin, colourful, one book to have on a rainy day.
