Great Book Almost Too Much Information
I bought “The Model 1903 Springfield Rifle and its Variations” by Joe Poyer on Amazon. Joe Poyer is a very knowledgeable author on military rifles. This book contains all of the information anyone would need to know about the Model 1903 Springfield Rifle and its Variations. Joe Poyer provides a detailed examination of rifle on a part-by-part basis for all variations. Every part is documented and matched to the serial number range of its use from 1903 through the Korean War. This book is a valuable resource that covers details of all of the manufacturers, features, markings, and parts, specific to each firearm for each year. There is a complete guide of each rifle with serial numbers, forge markings and other details to identify the proper parts. The book is full of clear close-up photographs and illustrations. This book is a must have for collectors of The Model 1903 Springfield Rifle, military firearms, or military firearms historian. The only thing that could improve this book is its physical size. The book is 456 pages long with hundreds of photographs, charts, and drawings and the size is only 8.5 x 5.5 inches. I think the book would be much easier to use if it were 8.5 x 11 inches

Exactly what I needed and wanted as I began to explore my 1903A3
Extremely comprehensive and was exactly what I needed as I began diving deep into my newly purchased Remington 1903A3. Armed with the knowledge that this book provides I have been able to identify and acquire the exact parts I needed to get it back to original shape. As a bonus, I am also now able to spot the inevitable reproduction or flat out fake parts. If you own as 1903, A3 or A4 and want to quite literally learn the nuts and bolts of all the various components, this is the book for you!

Easy to read and comprehensive reference book for 1903 owners and collectors.
This may not be as gripping as a NYT Bestseller, but it still had me enthralled for a few hours the first day I got the book. If you own a 1903 or any of the variants, this is the book to own to determine exactly what you have down to the screws! If you want to own a 1903 for more than just recreational shooting, you need this book to show you what is aftermarket and what is original to the rifle you are looking at.If you are looking for a book to read cover to cover, this may not be for you. It is an awesome reference book!

Another of Joe Poyers excellent guides...!!!
Joe Poyer hits it out of the park again with this guide to the 1903 Springfield rifle. All the variants are here for you to explore. This guide contains a lot of information for collectors who purchase and collect these fine rifles. For the price Poyer's guides can't be beat. I use these guides both to learn about as well as a resource when I am looking at rifles at gun shows, pawn shops, etc. It has saved me more than once from purchasing poor quality or mixed part rifles. Great guide for the collector...!!!

Good publication on the '03
Very good publication. It goes into great detail about the various assemblies of the rifle , along with the histories of the different variations . There were a few small inaccuracies that detract a little , but all in all a good book for the student of the '03 .
