Works better than I thought it would
Ever since I had a foot Dr.That would cut the toenails. All my toenails were regular color. But he used a rotery grinder. To smooth out the cuts. Unfortunately he used it.On every patient. Never cleaned or changed the stone.Gross I know. He said it was cleaned. But no way. Because every nail turned yellow. Curved and very thick.I have been embarrassed by. What he did to my toes.I have been going to wound care. For my lower legs. Every once in a while.I could get the Dr. To help cut nails back a little. But still way to long. Bothering me all the time.I was just in the hospital. For a blood clots in a femoral artery. When I got home. A occupational therapist. Was sent to my home. To check what I needed. That would help me .I mentioned the I cannot cut my nails.I need a way to take care of them myself. She sent me a link. For the same type cutter. But in 4mm wide.Looking at my nails. That would be difficult to fit.Doing some more searching.I came across the big black 6 mm wide. The price was similar to the 4 mm.It looked like. The best one to try. After searching everything. I could find on Amazon. I ordered big black. It showed up yesterday. So I was eager. To see if it would work.I setup bright lighting.Right off I was impressed on how sharp they are.It takes a little bit. To get used to hold it.Always use 2 hands. Because they are sharp. I nicked a toe. It was my fault.I am impressed on how.It made a quick work.On my ugly nails.Take your time. If they are very long. Cut a little at a time. On curved nails. Take small cuts. Going across the nail.Use a finger to hold. The jaws open to max. Until you get set up. For the cut.I highly recommend this. To anyone who has. The same problems. With there nails. Like I have.It feels good. To have them cut short.Best of all. Taking care of it myself. If I had these from. When I needed help. I would be much.Happier about my nails.God bless

Wow, very impressive product!
I read a number of the reviews on this product. There were some negative reviews about the Clippers being poorly designed and flimsy, and not being able to cut through thick toenails.I do not find this to be the case, in fact, of the three different long handled toenail clippers I own, I find these to be much more effective than the other two. I have severe arthritis in both hips, and intense lower back pain. Despite all that using these Clippers I was able to get my toenails with the exception of the small toe on each foot trimmed in about 2 minutes. On average, with either of the other two extendedclippers, to get the toenails on both feet trimmed would have taken a good 30 minutes, and sometimes longer. I also read a couple of comments about the clippers not being able to cut through thick toenails. I don't know how thick these people's toenails are, but mine are pretty dang thick and this tool cut through them like a hot knife through butter. You have to understand, that cutting my toenails took about three or four days of psyching up before I actually do it with any of the other extended clippers that I own. It is a testament to how well these things work that I took them directly out of the box walked over to the bathroom kicked off my shoes, braced myself with my left hand on the sink, and trimmed my right foot toenails in under a minute holding the trimmer in my right hand. No YouTube videos, no practice and absent any previous experience using this tool.I mentioned that I did not get the toenails trimmed on the small toes of each of my feet. This is my fault because I let them grow too long and they curved under, so it's unreasonable to expect any long-handled tool to be able to cope with that kind of an angle. I can tell you now that it won't be a problem keeping them trimmed once I get a pedicure done by a professional.I won't have to hesitate and worry about how much pain I'll experience, trying to trim my toenails . Now all I have to do is pick up the tool and trim them before they get long. I'm very happy with my purchase, and I would highly recommend this product to anyone who has limited ability to bend at the waist and reach their feet. I feel that if I'm able to do this, most other people out there with the same kind of issues that I have will be able to use this tool with a great degree of effectivity. Finally, I gave this a 4-star rating, because I feel there is room for improvement in this product. I think it could be a couple of inches longer, and the grip could be a bit larger. The plunger that presses down on the handle of the toenail clippers could sit with tension already on the clipper itself. There's a little bit of up and down play (1-1.5 inches that takes a moment to get used to. Honestly though, it only took me about three or four chops with the clippers to make it work just fine. Your mileage may vary.

Large Hands Only!!
The concept behind this product is reasonable, but for the specific product to work YOU (the user) must have the following (1) large hands -- if you have wear medium or small gloves especially because your fingers are not long, you will not be able to operate the squeezing mechanism with one hand which is needed for success; (2) relatively flat toe nails. It is extremely difficult to position the cutter if the nail is curved -- it then requires "nibbling" at the nail, which requires you to be able to see what you are doing, but if you wear glasses and are sitting as shown in the ad, this is very difficult to impossible; (3) Lastly, if your toe nails are thick, you were need to have large hands and a strong grip -- something that many seniors no longer have. I have completely given up on the product after a year of trying. The good news -- it is well made, just not well designed for many of the intended users.
