One of the best...and fun...ever!
It's easy to see why this movie received the Academy Award for best animated film. It's one of the best ever, not just that year. The characters, story, music, surprises, suspense, fun, and everything that just keeps us glued to the screen the entire time just make Moana a fantastic hit!

Well done, Disney!
Toddler loves this movie. We have to explain some things to her (toddlers shouldn't be watching TV and movies alone anyway) but she adores the music and loves HeyHey.

Needs pop outs.
Fun movie, but Disney could have done much better with 3-D effects, more pop outs, come on.

Dvd Moana has a slipcover that came with the dvd. The colours on the slipcover are brighter than the photo on the net. Great movie I now have both Moana films. I liked the fact that it takes part in Oceania. Thanks for everything.

Buying the Moana Blu ray turned out to be a costly and tortuous event for us as parents, so be warned. To summarize the worst symptoms of our family’s-Moana-mania; It’s hard to deny that the movie has catchy songs, that is, the first few times you’ll hear the music. But it will start to bore soon after lengthy and loud sessions during frequent car trips abroad – as in our case. This brings me to the point that we had to ‘invest’ as well in both in the CD - importantly with lyrics-booklet. AND the digital copy for on the Ipads. But also our neighbours got their share of Moana-grief following our daughter’s frequent sing-along sessions in her bedroom. Worse, our 4-year old son developed a bipolar fascination (for lack of a better expression) for two of the main characters; Most of the time he wants to be Maui. So he insisted on getting a ‘life-size’ fishhook for his birthday, an excellent electronic toy by the way, that we got on Prime– but it’s quite large and unwieldy. Yet he goes nowhere without it. His Maui-episodes from time to time drive him to cover his body with temporary exotic tattoo’s – with which he then tries to have a conversation .. Worse is when he decides it’s time to be Tamatoa or ‘Shiny’, as she calls him. This however comes with loud singing of the shiny-song and a lot of dancing on ‘four legs’, quite bizarre .. but to his and our frustration we have so far failed to find him a lobster suit his size. Our daughter has been slightly less demanding but still got a Moana dress and seashell necklace, that she actually got bored with soon given her age. Aside from these inconveniences we had to expense quite a bit so far on Moana-related merchandise; next to the 3D blu ray, a digital copy, a fishhook, the CD, the Moana dress, and the necklace, by now we also have a collection of plastic Moana figures, a few books and several Moana Lego sets.. easily adding up to over 175 GBP - clever people at Disney.. Yes I realize that as parents we have failed by giving in too much to our children’s antics. I hopeother families are be more disciplined and shielded from this commercial trap. Aside from all this Moana is a great and very entertaining family movie, that at least for us has a place among the biggest Disney classics. The first time you see it as a parent should be quite entertaining. The storyline is okay, perhaps somewhat predicate. But at least it lacks the almost compulsory love story! Also the movie is not a classic princess story, there is enough male character and hero to make it appealing to boys as well. And yes I’ve heard the music perhaps a bit too much, but it’s really very good (the first few times). So despite all my ‘grief’ it’s still a firm 5-star rating for us, not the least because the children simply adore it. Where possible we buy the 3D version of movies. This one looks very crisp and immersing in 3D on our fairly high-end OLED screen with proper surround sound
