Great knife
Sharpened on both sides. Which I like. One has to be careful when handling. I’ve purchased four knifes from this company. No disappointments. These things are well made and solid. That work and look fantastic.

It wants to FIGHT
It's beautiful. It was well worth the money. Shaving sharp out of the box. But there are a couple issues. The leather pouch it comes with has to be worked with to fit it, you really need to shove it down in there to button it. There is a small imperfection at the very tip that can be worked out though honing/sharpening. The main issue I have is that I NEED to use the leather pouch, because the knife has a habit of just... opening. That's pretty dangerous, and the reason I got a pocket knife and not a fixed blade was to put it in my pocket. Now I have all the negatives of a pocket knife with none of the positives. Pretty knife though, seems sturdy.

First the good, then the bad
I give this knife a 5 star rating with a caveat. First the good, then the bad. The knife is worth every bit of $100. I have a stereo microscope, and it shows the quality of the knife's craftsmanship. The opening and closing of the blade is smooth. The elbow-like turn on the haft end, and the zig-zag pattern of the brass and steel on the spine, makes for a good grip on tired and/or slippery hands. The knife is a work of art in both utility of function and aesthetics. The bad part is described in the following analogy, because everyone can understand it. Leonardo da Vinci did not sign his name across the forehead of his subject in his painting of the Mona Lisa. The WolfKlinge Logo is micro-etched prominently on the blade, in fact so prominently it appears white, and destroys much of the aesthetic value of the raindrop style Damascus Steel of the blade. The bottom line is, that you'll get a really high quality knife for a lot less than it would normally cost. I'll buy the "floor model" with the imperfection, because I see the value in it in spite of the flaw, but I'd gladly return this knife and pay $50 more for it, without the logo etched in to the blade.

Not Damascus steel. Not sure what makes the wave patterns, acid wash?
First, if the steel is Damascus steel, the pattern is not just on the surface. Like marble, if you sand it down you will still see the veins. They don't "disappear". Same as with forged Damascus steel. If you grind the surface down the pattern follows in the depth. Also the two sides of the blade will have the pattern on the edge "roll over" to the other side. The item I received happened to have a "smooth spot" just below the blade where the wave pattern is absent. This is impossible for Damascus steel. 2. The flip joint is super stiff. 3. The knife does not pass the paper slicing test, it is out of the box blunt and I do not want to void the warranty. The real item does not look as good as the pics. Too bad. Amazon had better verify all the description.

Beautiful but heavy, bulky, impractical, and disappointing
Very heavy and bulky for a single-blade pocket knife. It needs the belt holster. I mention this only because it's advertised as a pocket knife, which is what I wanted. It's the most beautiful folding knife I've ever had.Seems sturdy and well made.Because of its size and weight, I doubt I'll carry it.
