It says salt but doesn't say salt in the instructions. Do I need to add 9.8% salt to the water and saltpetre?

yes, for salting meat as- brisket etc, APPROX 1 TEASPOON SALTPETRE TO EVERY 4 DESERT SPOONS SALT, TO EVERY 4 PINTS WATER, THAT'S WHAT I USE TO MAKE A PERFECT BRINE,

Is this a direct replacement/substitute for sodium nitrite. And used in the same quantities for cures and brines as sodium nitrite

It isn't very clear I follow the instructions on the packet for Corned beef brine but you will need a set of scales that can measure in grams, I bought an electronic set with a digital display. I also use it for home cured Bacon.

Is this product a full equivalent of Prague Powder #1 or is it just one constituent part?
