SKLZ Gold Swing Trainer - great golf training aid
I have been playing golf for about 4 years, had 1 lesson a few years ago and have a lot of bad golfing habits. Most of my golfing games are spent trying different feet, ball, body and swing variations to compensate for my poor golf swing, struggling trying to get my driver and iron shots consistent. I saw a video demonstrating the SKLZ Gold Flex swing trainer on You Tube and was impressed with the simplicity of the design and could see the nicely controlled flowing golf swings on show and could see the potential benefits, so I decided to buy it on Amazon. The Gold Flex I purchased is 48 inches long which is longer than my normal clubs. At first I thought that it was too long, However when I transferred from the Gold Flex to my normal clubs it did not hinder the lining up with the golf ball. When I first used the Gold Flex it felt a little clumsy and heavy but after a few swings I started to slow the swings down and let the Gold Flex do the work. The weight on the end of the Gold Flex naturally brings your hands/arms into a nice position on the back swing then it flexes behind your head ready for the down swing. Because the swing is slowed down I waited until the Gold Flex had come back over my shoulder on the down swing and could feel the right time to start to power down on the down swing. Where previously I believe I was trying to power back down to high on the down swing, I now practise with 15 swings with the Gold Flex then 15 swings alternating between my normal golf clubs, because of the weight of the Golf Flex I found when I started to swing my normal clubs they felt a lot lighter and easier to swing and my golf swing started to mirror the Golf Flex swing. I can now feel various parts of the golf swing, the start of the back swing from the ground, the hands/arms pulling back, a slight pause at the top of the swing, the start of the down swing and finally feeling the right time to start powering down and through the golf ball. Because the Gold Flex is weighted at the end I have found that it helps me transfer my body weight from my right leg to my left leg (right handed) and my hips and shoulders are forced to turn and now when swinging my normal golf club I can feel the same transfer of weight and body movement. The Gold Flex also lets you feel when your making errors in a swing, for example, if I straighten my legs from a slightly bent position lifting my body up during the swing the Gold Flex starts to wobble and the swing does not feel so smooth. The idea is to try and get the Gold Flex swinging backwards and forwards as smoothly as possible. After 3 days of practising with the Gold Flex and a lot more turning of the hips and shoulders which generates more swing power I have found parts of my body and muscles aching that I obviously was not using before, for example, stomach muscles, general back muscles, back of upper arm muscles, forearms muscles, thigh muscles and hips all aching which shows I have not been using these muscles much in my golf game. On the golfing range today I concentrated on my driver and 2 hybrid/baffler off a tee and ground to see if after only a few practises over the last 3 days there was any difference. With my driver and hybrid I was gaining about 20 to 25 yards and most of the shots were reasonably straight. After the golf range I went out on the course and tried to concentrate on the new swing and slowing it down, I could still feel the different parts of the swing and had some good shots mixed in with a few duff shots as the new swing felt good but took a bit of getting used too, I could feel better weight transfer and the potential for more powerful shots. I had to focus on the new swing and try not to slip back into the old swing and back to bad golfing habits I intend to practise with the Golf Flex for 30 minutes per day where possible transferring between the Gold Flex and my normal clubs. I can definitely feel improvements with my golf swing within 3 days and hopefully with a few more weeks practising and a few more games of golf it will pay off with a more consistent and powerful golf swing. I would recommend the Gold Flex to anyone who needs help with their golf swing, it is good for warming up before a game of golf and used regularly along with plenty of practise on the golf course hopefully improve your game.

Great gold swing trainer
Really like this trainer. It’s really helped me to start to improve my golf swing. It’s nicely weighted, though personally, I’d prefer it to be even heavier to help me further develop flexibility. Grip is great. Length is similar to my driver and the shaft is pretty flexible so it helps develop is nice, smooth swing. I use it to help warm up before playing, and occasionally on the course when I notice I’m beginning to swipe the ball too much. I find it a useful training aid

Must-Have Training Aide
This is a brilliant training aide. Any reasonable golfer will immediately feel the benefit of using this equipment but a complete beginner may struggle with it. Very quickly you get to feel what a good swing should feel like and you can learn to build up the all important lag. There's no doubt that it strengthens your core muscles in this process and it's worth taking with you down the range even if you do get a few funny looks. It's also great as a warm-up tool: a lot better than swinging a couple of clubs. Contrary to what you may have read elsewhere, there is nothing wrong with the build quality. It's very robust and I can't see anything that might come apart! After using it for 2 weeks I added about 10 yards to each iron and 20 yards to my drives. Now I use it all the time because as well as helping the golf swing it works on the muscles in your waist. I also bought an Orange Whip trainer for a friend so I was able to compare the two products. The SKLZ is a bit heavier so if you are a senior or junior you might be better getting the Orange Whip. However, I prefer the SKLZ because it is heavier, half the price and the grip can be changed; with the Orange Whip it's not so easy to re-grip.

Very Useful
Got this to improve fitness and swing following an injury and didnt want to spend £100 on the alternative! Has certainly helped in getting fitter for golf, weight at the end of the shaft is good for loading muscles used in the swing. Golf clubs feel very light after using this. Also helps well with swing, when swinging properly the yellow ball appears in the corner of left eye on backswing and right eye on follow through (right hander) - also helps with stability and keeping head down through the swing. Has improved speed through the ball and is actually quite enjoyable to use, very pleased with it!

Brilliant swing aid
a genuine swing aid. This will definitely help to engrave an in to out powerful swing, if used regularly. You really do feel the 'magic move' from the transition from the top, the most important move in golf, will help develop the feeling of hitting from the inside out, and help fight the slice. Also your trunk really gets a good workout. It forces you to swing with a more steady temp due to heavier weight, when fully swung the weight stays back and forces the hips to initiate the downswing as they should. as much as £50 or so cheaper than the orange whip and I cannot see what that could do that the SKLZ does not, further there are loads of vids on you tube with examples of workouts with the club. Very well recommended

SKLZ Gold Flex - Helps groove your swing and tempo
Firstly I'll confess to being an aged hacker who will never excel at golf but I love the game and the constant self challenge to improve my own game. My swing has always been very fast - some have compared me to a demented axe man trying to chop down trees. The SKLZ Gold Flex has helped me to slow and groove my swing. The shaft is very flexible and combined with the weight on the end it forces you to slow down by having to wait for the end weight to catch up to ensure the shaft is straight at the bottom of your swing. This phenomenon forces you into creating lag which was sadly lacking from my original swing. I still haven't managed to perfect my swing yet but I am getting there and with a regular five or ten minute session using the Gold Flex, I feel confident I will improve my swing - and my game overall. The SKLZ Gold Flex is not the cheapest golf aid but I believe (for me) it is one of the most useful and beneficial aids I have used. Highly recommended for those wishing to groove their swing.

No instruction and start slow and gentle
I would strongly suggest that you stated off very gently with this get to enthusiastic and you are likely to to tweak you back. Still don’t know what the rubber band that came with is for or how it should fit onto the aid as there were absolutely no instruction with this.

Really helped me change my golf swing.
I have had my SKLZ Gold Flex for a month now and it has really helped me change my swing from swinging the club "over the top" producing a slice because I was leading with my upper body to leading with my lower body and reducing my slice to a good straight ball flight. You have to be focus in its use, I use it twice a day. In the morning I warm up with it for about 20 swings, then I swing my driver concentrating on the motion of starting the downswing with my hips and delaying my arms for 10 swings; I then repeat the process with a 6 iron and then a pitching wedge. In the evenings I do another 30 swings concentrating on the mechanics of the swing. You have to focus on the tempo of the swing. The benefits I have seen are a straighter ball flight; I am longer off the tee and generally more consistent. The biggest change has been my driving, I have went from an inconsistent driver with a slice, to a straight driver with a lower more penetrating ball flight. I gained about 20 yards. It took me 4 or 5 rounds of golf and 10 practise range sessions to get use to the new motion in my golf swing. I did notice sore core muscles for the first couple of weeks, but none after that. I am really pleased with the results so far and would recommend it if you swing over the top and are willing to put in the work to change your swing.
