Yes. I have a Boss V-Wah PW-10 which has a pretty big footprint, and it easily fits in. A Cry-Baby or similar would fit without problem. As I said in my review, lay your pedals out, connected in the order you play them, then measure the dimensions, allowing for input and output cable plugs. Then order the appropriate size Stagg board. :-)

Q: what effect pedals can this carry?

The 424 is really a fairly small and compact case. I have just three small linked pedals in it. (I tried getting a cry baby wah pedal in, but it was too big for this size case): a Behringer tuner, a volume boost pedal and a flanger. I use it for bass guitar and believe in keeping it very simple for that reason. If you want more 4 pedals than that in it, I'd really buy the next size up. The hinges have been criticised, but I have found them to be ok.

Q: is the lid detachable.?

Yes, the lids are easily detachable. I use one as a keyboard case, and one as a guitar pedal case. Been gigging with them 3-4 times a month for 2 years. Still going strong.

Q: Hasit got a piwer supply?

No, just a bare case that houses your pedals. When you lay out your pedals you need to allow for your power supply. At the moment I use a Visual Sound 1 Spot Combo Pack Power Adaptor and that takes up hardly any space
