Yale P-124-WE Door Pushbolt, White Finish, Standard Security, Visi Packed, suitable for aluminium doors and wooden doors

Bought this to replace an identical lock. Literally was a swap over; the barrel lock had broken on the old lock. This was fitted in a matter of minutes and is working like a dream. The keys are universal and fit the lower lock at the bottom of the door too. Would buy again for sure!

a good lock that is functional, good design and secure. You have to take time on installation but it is relatively easy, as long as you measure well. I fitted it to a wooden door and frame and was simple to do

The media could not be loaded. Purchased a Yale to replace a 30 year old similar Chubb sliding bolt. Same problem as many other 1 star reviews, the locking mechanism does not lock the bolt in place. The bolt slides freely in and out without a key. Yes, the key does allow the spring to extract the bolt, but you do not need it! Defeats the whole purpose of a locking mechanism. Amazon helpful but demand a full refund if you have used the supplied tamper-proof security screws and are struggling to remove it.DO NOT BUY (in capitals because I am shouting).

No complaints about the purchase at all. However, Yale need to stop penny pinching. I bought a chrome lock, fine, it's really good, BUT, the screw covers inserted after fitting are ..der der WHITE... making the chrome bolt look odd.I would have purchased the cheaper white bolt if I had know...

I first installed this model decades ago. It has high usage so I need to replace it when it wears out after several years (no problem with that). The bolt on this latest purchase had very high friction on the bolt action. I sent it back to Amazon and the replacement was better but the bolt was still noticeable stiff. I opened it up and found the conical profile on the bolt was poorly machined and has rough service and was the cause of the friction. A bit of grease improved the action considerable. ( I let Yale know about the issue).(If anyone else tries this fix, please note that one of the two springs inside is extremely tiny and would be easily lost if it pings out)
