Great so far
Looks great, no problem getting anything installed and working. I did have to follow the other reviewers instructions on installing Windows 11 because the network jack didn't work until the drivers were installed, which requires Windows installed first! Not using the wifi, so can't comment on that but everything else is solid. Wish it had SoundBlaster audio like the Gigabyte board I replaced, but I don't think anyone is doing that now...Realtek seems to have cornered the market for onboard audio. This was a more expensive board than most people need, to be honest though. I only did it as some minor future proofing...I wanted DDR5 today and the ability to use a gen5 NVME SSD in a couple of years. I only change MBs every 7-8 years, if you do it more frequenrly maybe same some cash and go for a board that only has gen4 SSD compatibility.

Great for gaming
Having just assembled a new PC build, this motherboard hits all the right spots. A beautiful design along with the MSI name is a match for anyone wanting a great motherboard for their new gaming pc. Has the straight forward bios that I've come to love with MSI. I only ran into two issues. The spots for the CPU cables is positioned in a way that my case didn't allow me to have as much space as I would have liked to route the cables, but this isn't really a negative on the motherboard itself. It also didn't come with any kind of manual in the box but I guess if you're spending this kind of money on a motherboard, this probably isn't your first build. Not an issue for myself but it would still be good to include a manual, or maybe I was an anomaly and they normally come with one. Overall a great piece for your build if you are building a higher end system.

I got 99 problems but my board ain’t one.
Msi did a great job with this motherboard. Great color scheme and all the features I was looking for. The most important feature when setting up a new rig and new cpu is a debug code indicator. I do hate that it takes this level to get one but whatever. I have overclocked my 13900k to 57x2 , 56x6 power cores and 44 e-cores at 1.31vrout llc of 5. Everything just works with this motherboard right off the bat. No messing around with errors and bad firmware I couldn’t be happier with Msi.Overall, i would purchase this Msi z790 carbon Wi-Fi again and my next one will be with Msi as well.

Great motherboard with some small issues.
I set off to build my ultimate gaming PC and decided to purchase this motherboard to build it with. I wanted a motherboard that was a little future proof, this seemed to fit the bill, DD5 ram, PCIE 5.0, M.2 gen 5 and not outrageously expensive. So I put together my PC and started to install Windows 11 home. Everything was going great until I got to the Wi-Fi screen. No networks were showing up and Windows had no option to move passed this and I didn't have a ethernet cable to plug into the motherboard. What could be wrong? Bad Wi-Fi hardware on the motherboard, no drivers installed, bad antenna? Two hours on the internet and Youtube, finally I found a way to bypass this stupid screen (that's Windows fault). Come to find out that the motherboard had no Wi-Fi drivers install on it (shame on you MSI). I was able to install them with the USB drive that came with the board (thank God)! After that everything ran fine. My other issue with this board (my fault for not doing more research) is that in the future if I want to use PCIE 5.0 graphics card and a M.2 gen 5 SSD, it cuts the graphics card down to gen 5 X 8 lanes instead of 16 lanes. I don't know if this will really be that big of a deal, but I just expected to be able to use both at full capacity. Other than those two issues, I love the board. It has been very stable and works great. Love the RGB lighting of the dragon in the corner. I am running Corsair 6400mhz DDR5 ram with no problems. I also like the digit display in the top right corner, I haven't had any error codes, but if I did this would make it much easier to diagnose, currently it displays CPU temp which is nice. Overall, I am pretty happy with this motherboard minus the two issues I talked about.UPDATE**Come to find out all current motherboards have this limitation of not being able to use PCIE 5.0 graphics cards and M.2 5.0 SSD's both at full speed at the same time. Apparently, there aren't enough PCI lanes in the current version of the chipset to solve this. The new 14th generation of Intel processors was supposed to fix this, but didn't. We will have to wait for the next generation of Intel chips to see if they add more PCI lanes to fix this.

Lots of connections, M2 Installs a breeze
MAKE SURE YOU UPDATE THE BIOS!!! Recent BIOS update (6/24) fixed crashes with 14th Gen Intel.Nice not having to worry about the M2 screws, you just pull off the film on the heatsink, put in the M2 in and turn the little switch. The large heatsink over the VRMs was too big to allow my Artic cooler II 280 radiator to install straight, I blame the cooler not the motherboard. Also, with a bigger case would not have been an issue. I managed to bend the pins connecting the USB header for the case, but straightened them out. The connector was hard for me to connect because the pins do not point up as normal, but as parallel to the motherboard. This made it hard to see and connect, but had I taken more care it would have been fine, so be careful with it. Personally, I'd rather have the pins up and use a cable that is at a 90 degree angle if I'm worried about appearance. If installing Windows 11, lookup how to skip the network sign in, then install the network card driver once in windows. I have not had any network issues as others have complained of. 620 FPS in Rainbow Six Siege running at 1440P. I've had to use MSI support in past (My fault) and they were great, so I continue to buy MSICase : Corsair 4000DGPU : Asus ROG STRIX 4090 OCCPU : Intel Core i9-14900KPSU : MSI MPG A1000G PCIE 5 ATX 3.0Cooler : ARCTIC Liquid Freezer II 280Fans : 4x Antec PF12 SeriesStorage : 2X SAMSUNG 990 PRO SSD 4TB870 EVO 4TB 2.5 InchMemory : 64GB 2x32 Corsair Vengeance 5600MHz CL40 XMPNote: I would not recommend the cooler for this case and MB comboHeatsink on MB blocks cooler which then doesn't mount right.
