The Railway Children (Wordsworth Children's Classics)

Bought this for my granddaughter. She not only loves the story but it takes pride of place in her book shelf. A very special book, beautifully bound, one to treasure. I have just bought her the Secret Garden to go with it. So good to see she enjoys the books I did as a child.

A great classic novel for children that enhances their vocabulary and reading skills.

This adaptation of E. Nesbit's children's classic follows the fortunes of a group of Edwardian children whose father is wrongly jailed for treason. Exiled with their mother to a life of genteel poverty on the Yorkshire Moors, they are soon drawn to the railway at the bottom of the garden, and all kinds of adventures follow . Can't fail to want to re-watch it over and over . highly recomended . a lovely childrens story .

This was ordered, as many others too, because I'd bought a Wordsworth classis book for £1.99 inc postage, it arrived well within the dates estimated & was well packaged. I've started to build up a nice little library of these books which I love from my child hood & now my grandchildren are enjoying them at the ludicrous price of £1.99. I've given it 5 stars for the reasons stated & yes, I recommend this book.

I have a more precious copy of this book and I so wanted to read it but sadly I bent the other book so we needed a urgent new book and this was a perfect option as it came so quickly. Signed Amelia ( age 10 )

I'm absolutely so pleased with these books! Not only do they feature the classic stories and novels of the past, but the details of the actual book make them true collector editions. The parchment/paper is so smooth and have a lovely texture. The hardcover is very sturdy, but I like the size because they are still quite light enough to comfortably hold in your hand as you're reading. Also, the love how the title has gold foil and the covers feature beautiful artwork/paintings! I've purchased a few different books from this collection and kept a few for myself, but I've also given them as gifts. The recipients of these books have been so pleased and surprised by how pretty and lovely they are. They will look good on anyone's shelf. As they add more titles, I plan to purchase more to add to my collection! Excellent quality!
