Vallejo Model Air Basic Range Colour Box Set

Excellent range of paints (mostly at the drab end of the scale) good for military vehicles etc. Also includes three varnishes and some thinner. Paint is pre thinned and ready to go but I still add a bit of extra thinner (as recommended by people who are more experienced at this sort of thing than me)

wow what an amazing product i didnt belive the reviews but now that i have tried them just wow i took my Spitfire down to primer and tried these paint on it and all i can say is 4 drops of 71-012 dark green + 1 drop of thinner and +1 drop of matt varnish and it covered the plane ( i did use maskol to do the camo pattern) and 4 drops of 71-029 dark earth + 2 drops of thinners + 1 drop matt varnish and my camo is done so all i can say is wow i will not go back to humbrol for anything other than my airfix models and even then im considering moving over to other brands for some models so if you are considering moving from brush to airbrush and you want an airbrush ready far superior product than other brands then buy this yes it may seem a bit pricy but trust me 17ml will go a long long way and therfore works out a lot cheaper than other brands also you can buy the paints seprate which im going to do to buy the other paints in the model air set ( as you only get the first 72 bottles which includes the varnish and the thinners ) so if you need meatalic black then you need 71-073 but there cheap enough

Excellent product. Thoroughly recommend. I’d recommend adding a few drops of Vellejo flow improver to your paint cup to stop tip drying out.

I'm a Vallejo convert, as they have a vast range of colours and they are so easy to apply and airbrush clean up is a breeze. There is a good range of colours in this set, but I'm sure I'll never use quite a few of them, so maybe not such good value as buying them seperately - I've already puchased one of the RAF sets to get the more accurate colours I needed. The storage box is very good.

DIe Farbauswahl ist etwas seltsam gewichtet und ein paar Washes würden dem Set gut tun, ansonsten kann man damit aber nichts Falsch machen. Gewohnte Vallejo Qualität und netter Koffer. Ich mag es.

These are excellent paints, as are the vast majority of Vallejo products. This particular item comes with 72 17mL bottles of paint with eyedropper caps and screw-on lids. They mix easily by hand shaking, and they do not need to be further thinned for use in an airbrush. It might seem like you're just paying the same for less paint and more thinner, but that's really not the case. The pigments are ground extra fine for the Air line, and the thinner makeup means they brush on nicer than thick paint as well, it's not solely for airbrushing. It comes with three really nice brushes, including two with triangular handles. I had never used a triangular brush before and was shocked at how much more control I felt I had over the bristles, particularly on the #0 detail brush. Really, really nice and I will definitely be buying some more. You also get two wall charts of the Vallejo color range, one of which includes a color chart with equivalent paint numbers for RAL/RML/FS, Vallejo, Tamiya, Gunze-Sangyo, Humbrol, Revell, Life Color, and Testors (!), as well as a full list of Vallejo paint chips and their corresponding numbers (and RML designations where appropriate). I Blu-Tak'd these to the wall above my hobby bench as soon as I saw them. The "suitcase" packaging is excellent. It will protect the paints inside from any bumps, knocks, or crushing and the custom cut foam holds 72 bottles with a slot below the handle for whatever else you want to jam in there. I ordered my set from England and it arrived with no damage, no leakage, no problems. I've already ordered other items in the Vallejo range including their full RML color set and three of their primers. I will definitely be using Vallejo paints on all my modelling and hobby projects for a long time to come.
