Highly Recommend – Life-Changing and Empowering!
I’m currently in week 4 of following Dr. Godfrey's Hormones book, and I’m already down 16 pounds! At first, it felt a bit complicated to figure out, but once I purchased the tools and items I needed and got into the routine, it became surprisingly simple. If I can do it, anyone can! This book is not just about weight loss—it’s a valuable resource for anyone looking to reset their hormones, navigate menopause, or improve their overall health. Even if weight isn’t a struggle, the insights and strategies are incredibly helpful. I absolutely recommend this book to every woman. It’s truly empowering and has been a game-changer for me!

This Is The Book We've All Been Waiting For!!!
I've been anxiously awaiting the arrival of this book for months! I have had some success with Keto diet and felt a million times better on it than I thought I could feel now that I'm in my fifties and post-menopause.But I was not getting the results I had hoped for or read about online.Well THIS BOOK EXPLAINS IT ALL! I finally have the "golden ticket" to my weight loss goals and how to manage my hormones(feelings).I stayed up all night reading it to the end and loved it! I feel heard, seen and as though I've had an insight into what's been going wrong with my attempts to lose weight and feel normal again. And best of all the path to fix it!I love Dr. Sara and have read all her previous books, but this time around it feels like she really put herself in the mix and tried it all as a scientist/doctor to figure out what the heck goes on with our hormones, and how what we eat plays a vital role in how we feel, look, respond, and get healthy! Thank you so much!A must read for any woman who hasn't been able to unlock the secrets of managing weight loss and hormones.

Very helpful
I decided to get this book after having some health issues (digestive problems, autoimmune disorder, hormone imbalance). I just finished my 28 days and feel better than I have in quite some time. I have had zero digestive problems, no inflammation episodes, and more energy. I also lost 11 pounds after not being able to lose weight no matter how much I exercised or restricted calories over the past couple of years. (I am 51, 5"7 and started at 154 lbs)The first week was the hardest since I had to completely change my eating habits. Once I made a plan it was not too difficult. The only recipe I used from the book was the Tahini bread. I ate lots of vegetables, seafood, and soup. Making sure I consumed enough calories was difficult at times. I became a big fan of sunflower seed butter, macadamia nuts, and canned mackerel (which I like much more than tuna in making salad). I will begin reintroducing foods this week and plan to use my keto-mojo to see how my body responds. I also incorporated intermittent fasting (14 hours of fasting/10 hour eating window) and drank lots of water. I had no problem with the keto flu or lack of fiber.I found this book to be very helpful and a good strategy for me in addressing my health issues. Feeling better and losing weight was a motivator to not stray from the plan.

Great Hormone Reset and Habit Changer!
I love this book and the information in it is very helpful. I have done Keto before and was very loose with it but the Gottfried protocol pinpoints specifics for women and it is just a 4 week minimum reset, not keto forever which I like a lot. Dr. Gottfried guides step by step on how to teach/train your body to have metabolic flexibility which I think is key for everyone, especially people over 40 (ability for your body to use both carbs and fat as energy). I’m in week three and feel awesome, thinking clearer and have a lot of energy, oh and I’ve lost 6 lbs in fat only. I’ve been strict with it, following all the tips and tricks to a T because I was ready to do it and do it right! Thank you Dr. Gottfried!!

Book needs work - Haven't tried the diet yet
I am 47, about 25 pounds overweight, and I am gearing up to begin my 4+ weeks of this protocol so I do not yet know if it will be effective. However, I have to say that the book itself is somewhat frustrating. The first half of the book reads a lot like an advertisement for the book. Lots of anecdotes of success stories. Lots of comparisons to other diet ideologies. There is a strong sense of leading up to a big reveal of the protocol itself. Then when she finally does, it really should have been organized into a few pages of charts instead of spread out and sprinkled with anecdotes. The whole time I was suspecting that the disorganization of the book was perhaps to obfuscate the simplicity of the concept or the fact that her protocol is not that original. I started to take notes along the way so that I could bring together the essential information in a more organized way. When you get to recipes, there are no macronutrients listed. Upon finishing this book, I really needed another week to research nutrition facts on a list of foods and try to make a meal plan that would somehow add up to the ketogenic ratio, maximums and minimums of fats, proteins and net carbs, and a target calorie count. This is decreasing my confidence in proceeding with the diet but I think I will still give it a try. I will amend this review once I have gone through the protocol itself.

Weight loss after 35
This would be a good book on a couple of conditions. I would want a doctor who could check my hormone levels and my family doctor said I would need an endocrinologist for that and they are very difficult to get in with. The big issue for me is she was pushing a modified keto diet and that's not the type of food plan I am interested in so I sent the book back. I want to change my diet for life but I have never be interested in Keto. At 62 I would love to have my hormone levels checked because they impact so MANY areas of your health.
