Original Swedish Angel Chimes & 4 Candles – Spinning Festive Chimes - Nickel

These are far more delicate than I remember as a child and do seem to be very thin and flimsy, however, they brought joy and wonderful memories in a video shared with my extended family and friends over the festive period. Used carefully and well out of the way of small children and pets they are a beautiful enchantment and do have a very delicate and subtle chime

I have had an angel chime since the 1970s. The original my parents had was solid brass. I wish I knew what happened to it. This lovely candle lite ornament is a part of Christmas for our family. I last bought one about 10 years ago. It was from the same manufacturer and it was well-made and lasted 10 years until the brass plating began to come off. I have had to have two of these new chimes this year. One was sent back due to the low quality. The second suffers from the exact same problem. They have made the item so lightweight, (lowered the quality) that the tower slots into a base and sways. When you add the angels, windmill and top angel, these are too heavy for the tower and it bends. The slots in the base where the tower is secured are too big and allow the tower to sway. This means the windmill stops turning and the chiming stops. All I can say is that the two sets we have tried are of inferior quality. The second one will be returned. Not recommended.

Having read the various reviews I decided to give these a try but was prepared for them to have a short life. I will take the advice of a previous reviewer and purchase extra candles as they do burn down quite quickly. It was very easy to put together and although one of the little angels did buckle (easily rectified however) a little when being fitted that was my fault as I was a bit gung ho to begin with and didn't look properly at the instructions on the box. The sound from my set is of a good quality and by no means faint. I would definitely buy these again and may purchase some more this year as small christmas gifts.

I initially left a negative review as I couldn’t get it to work but after giving it a final try and making sure the support is vertical it now works. It makes an adorable tinkling sound. I’m v happy with it and it reminds me of my childhood. Tricky to get it to work but when it does it is lovely.

I don't normally write reviews, but some of the comments here nearly put me off buying this, so I'd like to add a couple notes for anyone having trouble. 1. Some people complain about the chimes not fitting the holes. The short, hook-like end is indeed flattened a little so that it won't fit through the hole (possibly so that there is no risk of it coming off). However, the long end fits through just perfectly. It's perhaps counter-intuitive to thread it through the hole long-end first, which is where people may be getting stuck. 2. If everything is assembled correctly and the rotor isn't turning, angle the candles slightly toward the central cross to get enough heat rising in the right place to make the rotor turn. Just gently pressing the candles inward a bit should solve the problem. On the occasion when my candles dripped a little, the design of the metal parts that held the candle allowed the wax to burn away from the bottom, with the rotor still turning. One other note: the candles burn quickly, so I recommend ordering more if you plan to light the chime regularly through the Christmas season. This set is identical to what I remember from growing up, and I've been very happy with it.

These angel chimes work great! The instructions aren’t great so I think some people may have put them together the wrong way. Another recent review has described what might be going wrong. Make sure the strikers go through the hole long end first and that they are put in from the inner side of the Angel, otherwise they won’t strike the bell. I also think they are meant to be very thin and delicate so they’re light enough to spin. Lovely for Christmas and give off a nice tinkling sound. Bought the candles in bulk on amazon to get the best deal as they burn fairly quickly. One of my favourite decorations this year! I’m buying more as gifts.

Bought as a replacement for ones I had as a child. Like other people have said… the column is flimsy and bent during assembly. There is no twirling and no chiming. Very disappointed. 😢

A bit flimsier than I expected,my mam had one years ago and then they were so much more robust .couldnt get the angels to turn after lighting the candles ,will try again when I bring it out next Xmas.Maybe just needs a bit of titivating.

Was disappointed at first because my angel’s wouldn’t turn on their own. I put a dot of olive oil on the stick point (under the cap) and it works perfectly! Just like when I was a little girl, I can watch this and listen to the bells chime for hours.

Apesar de não ser original, tem um bom acabamento. Mas achei que o pêndulo que toca o sininho, não é pesado o suficiente para o som do sino tocar alto. O som do sino é bem discreto.

Stupendo. Per chi desidera portare un po' di incanto e poesia nel quotidiano, questo é un acquisto perfetto. Col buio diventa davvero meraviglioso osservare lo scintillio delle candele, il movimento, ed il tintinnio dei campanelli. Facile da montare. Consiglio di acquistare sin da subito, una scatola di candele di ricambio, perché é talmente bello che poi si usa molto.
