One of the gears warped on one of the factory machine heads on my Squier 70's Modified Jazz Bass. I had a pretty hard time finding replacements that would fit that didn't seem like cheap garbage. Even these don't exactly line up, I had to drill new holes for 2 of the holes on each machine head; however, it seemed that was the only option besides cheaping out and risking the same issue. I am very happy with this upgrade, you definitely get what you pay for. They are so smooth, tuning with them takes seconds, they also seem to hold their tune really well.

These are Fender, but not vintage style at all. I own a 1974 Jazz Bass, and it's all OEM, (nothing replaced). As mentioned by another customer, these are chrome and not nickel plated as are the ones on my Jazz Bass. I am swapping out the fretted neck for a fretless one, so I needed new tuners, (so I can swap necks back and forth without having to replace hardware). Though these new tuners are chrome and not necessarily built like the originals, but they are of very good quality. And I can also confirm that the holes, (.0680 OEM holes) on my 1974 Jazz Bass neck are smaller than what these newer model tuners are made for. All an all, great quality. Just incorrectly described. They are not vintage style at all.

These tuning machines are great and are my favourite on the fender precision basses. But, It may be hard to see, these two tuning machines are different in how they are plated. These fender tuning machines are chrome plated. The Hipshot Xtender and my Japanese style tuning machines are nickel plated. You can see this in the colour. Nickel is more of a yellow where the chrome is a lot more bright. If you are looking to have a vintage look, look elsewhere for tuning machines. I’m giving this product three stars because it’s sold not as advertised. But my personal experience with these that are on my other basses get a 5 star.

I used these when it was time to replace the original hardware on my '76 jazz. These were a direct fit. Great funtionality and has the same look as the original tuners
