Another high quality LED product from Govee ! Don’t let the title fool you , you can use these for more than just your desk . Also you can trim the length to size . They have a really good look and are very bright .

This is a very bright RGB light strip. It is well built and can be trimmed to fit using the marks on the side of the strip at the end of it. The smart phone/tablet app allows easy calibration once it is connected to bluetooth to adjust for cuts made and keeps the lighting effects properly centered. After I trimmed it, I dissected the cut off length to see how it was built. The LEDs are surprisingly facing toward the back away from the user and not the front of the strip. It uses a light guide to channel light from the inside clear silicone to the diffusing layer on the outside. This has a few advantages over most LED light strips. It will be resistant to damage from inadvertent hits/impacts which can easily happen being so close to the user and along the edge of your desk, it better blends the colors between the sets of light zones, and it prevents annoying hot spotting.

The media could not be loaded. So this is my third purchase of GOVEE lights and they never disappoint. The colors are so vibrant and bright. The fact that I can connect them all to my phone make it simple to turn off and on as well as change settings. With this particular flexible strip my only concern is the stickyness of the backing. I have it mounted to the edge of my gaming table. Around the corners it unsticks. It's only been stuck on for 20 minutes and I've had to press it back on several times now. If it continues I might have to take another star away.All in all, I do love this brand. But this item in particular I'm concerned about.

Govee is quickly becoming my goto for all of my LED /smart lighting projects. Ever since my first smart bulb, no issues whatsoever (knock on wood). App is easy to use and Alexa/Google integrates as soon as you register it. And it looks good framing my computer workstation! Be sure to follow instructions as you can only bend it one way (back), corner brackets are included for the "L" corners (front).UPDATE: I bought this in September 2023 and as of January 2024, the last couple segments started going out or not connecting with the rest of the strip. Lightly pressing on the problem segment seems to connect (as shown from the last couple images). I sent an inquiry to Support after trying the troubleshooting they offer in the manual pdf but it doesn't address the issue. I hope there is something Govee support can offer or since there is supposedly a 12 month warranty on these lights that I can get a replacement... Will not be happy peeling the product off with that super sticky adhesive but I love this product and worth the effort. Only taking away two stars until I either get a maintenance solution or offer of a successful warranty replacement.ANOTHER UPDATE: Govee came through 48 hours later (after my first update) and had me do a factory reset (forgot the sequence but involved holding down the power button and one other button... this was NOT in the manual). After responding back that it didn't resolve the problem, they sent me a free replacement which arrived within 2 days (I was still under warranty). This was maybe 2 months ago as I'm writing this and no issues. I'm just happy that Govee stands behind their products and responsive to customer concerns!I immediately bought a Govee sconce I had in my save for later cart, after that experience. If a brand takes care of me, I'll stay loyal to them. Bad experiences are only bad because nothing was done to address the issue.
